We had the good fortune of connecting with Stella Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stella, how does your business help the community or the world?
This is a big question, but it is one that I think about often. My business helps people on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level, all of which spread the positive effects from my treatment through my clients out into the community. My practice encompasses these three levels of healing, beginning with the physical level of working out muscle tension. As muscles relax in both mind and body, space is created for emotional healing to occur. It is easier to share authentically when someone is showing your physical body love. In this space my intention as a practitioner is to hold non judgment for anything that presents. It is healing to be seen and heard. After reaching a trust and comfort level, spiritual healing begins to occur, exchanging energy at a deeper spirit level, leading closer to the root cause. Through the combination of these three healing components, my deepest intention as a healing arts practitioner is to spread love. When I picture how my work affects the community, I think of it as a silent trickle effect. When people begin to feel better in the body, mind and spirit, their lighter energy becomes undeniably contagious. This is how we shine as individuals, communities, countries and as a race. Sometimes, it can feel quite overwhelming to hear about all that is happening in the world, especially with the aspects that feel out of control. However, doing my part to spread positive energy is the way I can contribute to making a difference. That is why I do what I do, it fills me and it fills others. I figure I can’t go wrong with that agenda.

Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My business is changing and evolving quickly, keeping me on my toes and filled with excitement. Since massage is my foundation, it is intuitive and natural. I also deeply enjoy sharing my knowledge about muscle pain, structure, and function with others! Although this mechanical and investigative side to my massage treatments will never change, I am also beginning to look at the body and the spirit a little deeper. I feel like I am getting fitted for glasses but they are not quite in focus. Soon, my education will be complete and my acupuncture glasses will begin to clear. This path too will soon be intuitive and natural. On a business level, I have recently learned so much about keeping my healing space safe for myself and my clients. I have learned how to let work come to me instead of trying to will it to grow. Surrendering makes the ebb and flow of a small business effortless and enjoyable. As the name of my business “Harmonious Bodywork” suggests, we are in this together. One muscle ache at a time, one emotion at a time, one day at a time, one moment at a time,. Together we can do better and be better.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The surrounding Denver area is full of so many unique and interesting places. During this time however, I have found nature to be my place of refuge. If I had friends visiting from out of town, I would tell them to pack their hiking shoes. I would suggest that they hop in the car and go driving the windy mountain roads looking for good pull outs along the river. Maybe head up to Evergreen for an afternoon hike and lunch. I have recently heard of some waterfalls in the northwest mountains which I would love to go exploring. Since I am a true Littleton resident, I would also suggest an afternoon walk through the stores of downtown Littleton. Such a great community to live in!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success comes from several contributing factors in my life, both personally and professionally. Professionally, the knowledge, wisdom, and diversity I have witnessed from my many teachers is what encourages me to learn and grow in every possible way. For example, my current teachers at the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture are guiding me through an oral tradition of Classical Chinese Medicine with love and compassion. My community from the Colorado School of Healing Arts has held me to high standards in the massage therapy profession, influencing and challenging me to be the best therapist I can be. The Ruiz family has also been a strong influence through their literature, with their most well-known book, “The Four Agreements.” Last New Years, my husband and I went on a retreat to Mexico with the Ruiz family, leading to deep personal growth that has rippled out into our family and our interactions with the world. My clients also have a tremendous impact on my success, fostering loyalty and friendship that motivate me to improve my practice and how I show up for them daily. Last but not least, my two Curandera’s from New Mexico, who paved the way by example and recognized the spirit in me. These ladies started me on my professional journey as a healing arts practitioner. My personal contributing factors include the family I was born into. These five people, my father, my mother, and my three sisters, all challenge and support me to be the very best version of myself possible. They are my roots holding me through every adventure and every phase. Then my own little family, my heart, my world. My husband, my rock, supports me daily in my efforts to believe in myself and to believe in my dreams. He also steps up when I need him to step in, truly my partner and teammate in life. Love him. My sweet sweet baby girl and her extra large sized heart, the mirror in sensitivity grounds me on a daily basis. Love her. My beautiful step daughter, completing a piece of me as a mother of siblings, and constantly reminding me about innocent joy and laughter. Love her. Together, my teachers, community, and family are the reasons for my success. Cultivating knowledge and love in my personal life is what I envision spreading out into my clients, into the community and into the world. Just one life, I’m going to “give it all I got”.
