Meet Stacy Read | Commercial Developer and Small Business Believer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Read and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe that risk = reward.

While there can be varying degrees of risk, and other factors that contribute to the level of reward, I do believe that taking risks is why I am where I am today. Creating businesses, and developing concepts that are new or different can be welcomed or can fall flat in the eye of the public. My decision making with risk taking has evolved over time, but I have definitely been on the high end of the risk scale for most of my adult business building life. If I have a passion for my work or the project, I will work to a high degree to develop and set up the new business for success the best that I can.

Not everyone needs to have a high risk tolerance – setting one self up for success by having a plan and strategy, and being willing to work for the end goal are tremendous assets in the creation and sustainability of your new business. Find your passion and work hard for it. Find a support system and get help where you need it. Never stop learning. There is no failure – there is only feedback.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been a serial entrepreneur since college, and have created over 15 businesses. Some more successful than others. It has never been an “easy” journey – but there is literally nothing I would change. If there weren’t moments of feedback that felt like failures, or pressure points that allowed me to really realize my potential, I would not be where I am today. I am very proud of my journey. My current endeavors are incredibly fulfilling to me because of my ability to support other small businesses. IMAGE Studios are salon suites – we lease luxury salon space to Pros in the beauty industry. These Pros have their own businesses; manage and build up their own clientele; and some of Pros need small business advice and tutoring. We provide a support system for those needs, and we love seeing Pros who have never owned a business follow their passion and purpose.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
IMAGE Studios is located in Lafayette – and right down the street from us is one of our favorite hang out spots – Teocalli! If Mexican food and terrific drinks are on your mind – you must try it out!

For breakfast, we cannot get enough of EAT in Broomfield! This spot in the Flatirons Mall area is delicious, the staff is amazing (Brittany and Maria we love you!), and pups on the patio make me smile!

Constantly on the lookout for the BEST Reuben in Colorado, I think our friends at Northside Tavern in Broomfield have THE best one. Get the sweet potato fries with it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My incredible husband, Chris, and our loving kids who ride this journey with us. While the nonstop hustle is all they know; this will be their own measurement for their choices in life – I am so thankful that they are on this ride with me. It not only makes it matter more, it makes me proud to do this for them.
