We had the good fortune of connecting with Syncere Hinton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Syncere, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.” By David Bowie. Bowie always spoke to me through music and interviews so it always felt like he understood me. He knew what it was like to constantly change yourself and take chances for you and no one else. I love the quotes uncertainty but it’s positivity at what lies ahead!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I label myself as a part time artist and professionally as a full time part of assistant management for a well known economical distributor. For my beloved part time passions, I model, make connections, do cosmetology and I even act in projects for those around me. I got to where I am by letting myself trust those around me. Those individuals want the best for me like I want the best for them. I would never have even posted professional pictures if it was not for their support and generosity towards me. Even with support it was not easy because I do have body image issues and for a long time I had financial issues; therefore nothing really was easy mentally as well as physically. Eventually I had to get a typical 7-5 business job so I could be able to afford what I have now and do what I do now. Mentally getting another job helped me tremendously because soon I’ll be able to grow and promote myself when I have the right savings and mindset to succeed. With the financial support I have been able to work on my relationship with myself and I’ve learned how to love myself. Loving myself and accepting myself was one of the hardest things because I see myself as fat or ugly or just unattractive to those around me. To summarize, I just felt disgusted with myself and sometimes I still do. However with building my future brand for modeling and makeup, I just want people to know I’ve come far from self hatred and eventually accepting what I cannot change and what I can. I use my talents for fun, for passion, and for myself. To eventually love myself again and hopefully allow others the same chance. I just want people to see me as a positive figure no matter what I do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Each day I would take them to a different breakfast spot I enjoy in the Springs! Urban Egg Eastery, Urban Steam, the Denver Biscuit Company or any new place we would find along the way. For dinner we would need a good meal with drinks like at Mamitas or Little Nepal. Everyday must be filled with fun so shopping at the malls or just walking around Powers and soaking in the summer sun or better yet a plant nursery! Plants are just interesting and finding one you enjoy can just make your week sometimes and what a better place than the Living Room or Phelan Gardens! The people are always positive and the environment is beautiful.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Her name is Bibianna. She is a Malagasy singer and musical artist. She became my friend and she introduced to people that would eventually change my life and help me get started. She always invited me and wanted me to be involved once we worked together on an unreleased project. She really motivated me to always stay true to myself and just live especially when building a brand/following.
