We had the good fortune of connecting with Marvylus and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marvylus, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was a jit, I always seemed to attract the spotlight. I was always creating whether its was arts and crafts or music. Making people smile and knowing that I gave them a unforgettable experience is what i do it for. Its rare that someone like me gets the opportunity to change their life for the better, so thats what thrive for. My music is only the beginning I plan to do a little bit of everything before I die.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from other rappers and musicians is that I produce my own music. I take the extra time to mold all my music from the ground up. To get to where I am today took countless amounts of sacrifices. As a upcoming musician you must put yourself in uncomfortable situations and scenarios to grow and evolve. I come from poverty and have lived in some of the poorest places in Colorado Springs. So i already had a predisposition that I had to overcome. After losing my mother in 2014 to a drug overdose, I made a spiritual promise with myself that I was going to be great and successful. One important lesson I learn that applies everyday in my life is, if you want something done right you must do it yourself! I want the world to know that i could not do this with without yall and you can’t spell Marvylus without US.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I get asked where are the best places to visit all the time in Colorado. I personally love the outdoors so I always recommend Garden of the Gods for hiking and site seeing. The music scene is no doubt a hidden gem with Colorado’s premiere venues like The Red Rock Amphitheater and Mission Ballroom so I always go out to show love at the shows! There are so many food spots that slap in Colorado its not even funny but if you want the best wings in Colorado Spings I recommend going to Deluxe Wings. I always tell people to hit up the local dispensaries and go to Meow Wolf and The Denver Selfy Museum if they are looking for something hippy and trippy. If your looking for nightlife activities then I would recommend club and bar hopping in downtown Denver.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
LoUd Life Crew! Specially SwizZy B, Noopey Na’mon, and Mann LaGrand Flight. Without my team I wouldn’t be where I am today. LoUd Life helped with everthing from artist development to behind the scenes music business. We have seen the highest highs and lowest lows, and fortunately have been able to stick together and support eachother throughout it all! Our live shows are only getting better and I’m excited for whats in store for our future! My group motivates me and inspires me to be great!
