We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Hering and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was being able to do what I love and finding clients to make it possible. When I first started out, that wasn’t always the case. I was taking jobs that introduced me to the industry and trying to make ends meet. After a few years, I had contacts and contracts that made it possible to do some really amazing things.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started out helping local clients and was soon referred to some major players in the industry. I’ve had the opportunity to work with national brands like Mars M&Ms, Johnsonville Brats, One Coconut Water, Empower and Core Power Yoga. Along with that, I’ve worked with some really great people like Jack Nicolas, John Elway, Payton Manning, Rod Smith, Jay Leno, and many high-level executives and CEOs. One of my greatest accomplishments was winning best in digital in 2018 from the American Advertising Association and then getting the outstanding leadership award from Marketing 2.0 conference in Las Vegas in 2022. During the pandemic, I was able to shift my business virtually without missing a beat since I had been pitching hybrid and digital meeting solutions since 2014. It was a no-brainer with the technology and experience I had gained working in live production. I liked to say it’s luck but only when preparation met opportunity was I able to give my client’s the best experience with a superior team.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I spend just as much time in the mountains as I do in the front range. I live 15 minutes from the base of the Rocky Mountains and 15 minutes from downtown Denver. If I were to take my friend visiting Denver I would take them downtown using the light rail and maybe check out a Rockies or Broncos game. I’m also a fan of Outlaws and Lacrosse. There are plenty of amazing places to eat in Denver, including Tavernetta, Ocean Prime, 240 Union, Simms Steak House or gab a table at Table 6, One Barrel American Bistro, Steak house 10, Twin Forks, Sushi Den, Sierra, The Bistro at Marshdale or Jovanina’s Broken Italian to name a few. Most people that live in Colorado don’t experience the best of the great outdoors. So camping in South Park during the summertime, tubing down the Yampa river in a Steamboat, or hiking in Boulder are some of the great summer activities anyone can enjoy for free. In the winter some of the great ski areas are Winter Park, Keystone, Vail, Aspen, and Telluride won’t leave you wanting more. Don’t forget to check out the amazing Red Rocks Amphitheater. Wether your are running up and down the stadium steps or there for an amazing concert that place has a special vibe that most people don’t miss.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If I were to give a shout out it would be to Inspire Solutions. The international company is part of a network of hospitality event providers that gave me the opportunity to contract and learn from the industry inside and out. I was able to work with some amazing clients through them and they gave me the skills and expertise to follow my dream of running my own company and being part of some major brands and businesses. The local general manager and their team in Denver are superior to non. The company attracts really great people from their account executives to the boots on the ground. This is where I learned customer service, client relationships, and best of all team effort.
