We had the good fortune of connecting with Emmarose Villatoro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emmarose, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance definitely has its ups and downs these past few years. When I was working for a corporate I could barely find time for myself and my friends. I would be so burnt out all I wanted to do was sleep and i couldn’t find the joy in life anymore. Now since I have opened my own business, I can hang out with my friends and family more often. I’ve even started going to the gym more often and taking care of my mental and physical health.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting my own business wasn’t something I thought I’d be doing for a while. But due to other circumstances, I decided that is was time I should leave my corporate job and take my career into my own hands. My business is still very new and it’s been challenging thus far. Sometimes I think to myself “can I really do this?” But I have to remember that I have guests who come to see me and they are so supportive of what I’m doing and are amazing supporters. And just because my business is small doesn’t mean that I’m going to fail as a business owner, it just means that I have room to grow. With my business VillaBeauty LLC, I want people to feel their beauty on the inside and the outside. Each people is beautiful in their own way and if I can be a part of their journey then I’ve done what I’ve set out to do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Obviously Colorado has a plethora of activities to do and it’s difficult to choose only a few. First I’d have to take them to Doug’s, a local breakfast restaurant. It’s one of my favorite breakfast places to eat so that’s a definite place to go. The Cheyenne mountain zoo and Garden of the Gods would be next on the list. Those places are big attractions here and are places even locals like to visit when they can. Downtown for the night life is also a must. A little hidden bar called the Archives will be a place for drinks and good food. And finally if they’re up to it, we could tackle the Incline, great for those who wants a little challenge when it comes to a hike.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes out to my family. Specifically my mom. She’s always been my number one supporter on what I’ve done career wise and I don’t think I would’ve had the confidence to start my own business if it wasn’t for her. She always told me to try something new or else I would always regret it. Hearing her stories about her regrets in life encouraged me to chase after my dreams even if they fail. She’s always telling people she knows or runs into about my business and it’s so incredibly helpful. She is now and forever will be my #1 fan and supporter. Thank you Mom, love you more.
