We had the good fortune of connecting with Marissa Nicholson Chris Hammelev, RDH and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marissa Nicholson, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We would say the most important factor is us staying true to our vision and boundaries we set when we started our business. We set out to create a dental consulting agency that would help our clients not only have a better practice that helped patients get back to the health they deserve but also create a culture of open and honest communication that grew the team members both personally and professionally. We have been guided by those principals and get to help our clients, which are also small businesses, thrive. We don’t focus on the dollars or numbers; It turns out if you do the right thing all of that follows. We just teach them to fish and then let them conquer!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We started our business knowing we had a gift to share. There is a stigma in the dental field that consultants are stuffy and want to squeeze every client into their cookie cutter ideal of what a dental practice should be and keep them in to perpetuity whether they needed consulting or not.

We wanted to change the landscape. We created The Dental Practice Management Agency two years ago after 25+ years in the dental field and what we knew is we wanted to be us! From there we set forth to surround ourselves with the best dental entrepreneurs this field had to offer. We now have five consultants in our “Wolf Pack” along side of Chris and me.

Our team represents every position in the dental field and steer our program to use what amazing systems they already have and pepper in ours to create a custom program based on each clients needs.

On any given day, we are laughing, crying, dancing, and most importantly growing alongside of our clients who quickly become family. We encourage our team and clients to be themselves and let their morale lead them and success will follow.

We often stop and ask ourselves how we get to have so much fun and work with these amazing small businesses.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We are BIG fans of Pho Haus on Alemeda and Broadway (best PHO in Denver in our opinion) Adelitas on S broadway is where we love a great lunch and happy hour with our team!
and for many client dinners you will fins is at Ni Tuyo on University!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our clients deserve the biggest shout out. These small business owners that happen to be the CEO, CFO, Head of HR, and main producers, are the ultimate super heros. It is not easy to focus on so many aspects and be a care giver as well. Not only are they doing all this, our clients are constantly striving to grow their clinical and communication skills. Everyday we feel honored to be able to be in their corner and help guide them in these amazing journeys!
