Meet Samantha Andersen | Owner of The White Wolf Yoga & Yoga Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Andersen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I opened The White Wolf Yoga the day after my certification to teach was complete. My OWN business was empowering because it gave me the freedom to teach anywhere. I can run as an independent contractor through other companies, community events, private clients, my own classes, special themed-classes and it can grow and shift – as it has over the years. My company took my license to teach and gave me a legal platform to stand on, a name to call myself and an image to begin branding slowly but surely.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My business model focuses on quality over quantity. Increased numbers are nice, but I am not looking to go buy followers and create a false persona. I have built it all myself, from website to social media to marketing and client base. I can do better than I do, and I am always looking for ways to grow and improve.
There have been failures and I have had to find a way to keep trying. I research. I try and learn what creates success from genuine people. I try and focus on my brand and my image with everything I put out there – there may be less but I know it represents what The White Wolf Yoga stands for… bring pure, being transparent, supporting the good choices, spreading our light and using our power for good, motivating and inspiring- not manipulating.
My image is The White Wolf. My posts and images I put out are all black and white. Clean. No rants. No anger. Positivity. Ways to encourage others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The White Wolf Yoga is a virtual online studio, accessed from anywhere… and the beauty of that is that I can teach from anywhere. My favorite spot is outside, mat on the grass at the foothills of the mountains. In Estes Park, CO, this is easy to achieve. Step out into the front yard, or the grassy knoll downtown, maybe carry that mat up a trail to find your own quiet spot to soak up nature and realign yourself with what is important.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe thanks to my yoga practice for driving me forward. And more thanks to my yoga teacher trainer, Kelly Kenworthy from The Little Yoga Studio in Boulder, CO for being such a naturally inspiring soul with an incredible attention to detail – and the magical group of yogis I trained with: Cassidy, Debbie, Emma, Lyndi and Wesley.
