We had the good fortune of connecting with Zoë Antoine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zoë, how do you think about risk?

For me, taking risks has played a crucial role in shaping my career and helping me achieve my goals.

Throughout my life, I have always been willing to take calculated risks in pursuit of my dreams. Whether it was starting my own business, pursuing a new career path, or taking on a new challenge, I have always been willing to step outside of my comfort zone and push myself to the next level.

While taking risks has and always will be terrifying, it has also been incredibly rewarding. It has allowed me to learn new skills, gain valuable experience and meet new and talented individuals, and achieve things that I never thought were possible. It has also taught me the importance of resilience, perseverance, and adaptability, all of which are essential qualities for success in my field. All while still learning, and keeping up with the trends.

In the end, I believe that taking risks is a necessary part of any successful career or life journey. It requires courage and a willingness to embrace uncertainty, but it also opens up new opportunities and allows us to achieve our full potential and be who we truly want to be and who we have always dreamed of being.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a hairstylist, my art is all about transforming my clients’ hair and helping them feel confident and beautiful. Creating a getaway from reality, some time to dream about being on vacation for a little while. What sets me apart from others is that I’ve decorated my space in a french theme and it’s because of my heritage. My father is French and his heritage has always been a source of pride and inspiration for me. Growing up, I was fortunate to experience the rich culture and traditions of France through my dad’s stories, going to France when I was 19, and delicious home-cooked meals of course.

I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients over the years. Seeing them leave my chair with a smile on their face and a newfound confidence is the most rewarding feeling in the world. It’s what motivates me to keep pushing myself to be the best hairstylist I can be.

I’ve learned that overcoming the challenges of owning your own space is all about staying true to yourself and my passion for hairstyling. Through perseverance and a commitment to excellence, I’ve been able to establish myself as a trusted and respected hairstylist in my community.

I’ve also learned that staying up-to-date on the latest techniques and trends is essential to staying relevant and competitive in the industry.

What I want the world to know about me is that I’m not just a hairstylist, but a friend and confidant to my clients. I take pride in being able to help them feel their best and bring out their inner beauty. I hope that with my atmosphere that I have created, it will transport you to the streets of Paris or the vineyards of Provence, even if just for a moment. My brand and story are all about creating a positive and uplifting experience for my clients, and I’m passionate about continuing to do so for many years to come.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

As I reflect on my journey as a hairstylist, I can’t help but think of my Mom and the incredible influence she has had on my life. She’s been more than just a mother to me; she has been my role model and inspiration. Her passion, creativity, and dedication to the art of hairstyling have always been a source of inspiration for me.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve watched my mom work magic with hair, transforming her clients’ appearances and making them feel confident and beautiful. I’ve always admired her skill and the way she connects with people. She makes everyone feel special, and that’s a gift that not everyone has.

Also I would have to mention Richard Krammes, Educator of the hairstyling program at Boulder Tech. His expertise in the field of hairstyling is unparalleled, and his ability to convey his knowledge in a clear and practical way has made all the difference in my learning. He taught me everything from the basics to the advanced techniques, and he always has been patient and encouraging, even when I made mistakes and even well beyond school.

Now, as a hairstylist myself, I feel so fortunate to have had her and my styling teacher as my mentors and guides. Their legacy in the industry is something that I carry with me every day. I want to continue the work that they started and make my own mark in the world of hairstyling. I want to make them proud and continue to carry on their legacy!
