We had the good fortune of connecting with Hardy Hyppolite and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hardy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Being in the creative field for over thirty years and designing for companies such as Godiva Chocolate, Oracle, Kraft Foods, and Canon, I wanted to produce a product that reflected my imagination and creativity. Occasionally, I would burn the midnight oil — working on a project — while sipping on a glass of my favorite spirit. Then one night, I asked myself, what if I had my own alcohol brand? What would I call it? The obvious answer was THOUGHTS® because it is how I make a living.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started as a graphic assistant right after high school. I worked for a publishing company, designing individual client pages in their books. I also help create items for their trade shows and conference. That went on for several years, and then I heard of this beautiful new industry called the Internet. I was instantly intrigued and wanted to know how to build websites. Back then, there were no schools for it, so I taught myself how to develop and design websites. From there, my career leads to creative direction, and I found myself directing photoshoots. This was great because I could also be creative off the computer. These days, I am leading innovative initiatives for Fortune 500 companies in UX/UI design.
My entire career has groomed me to have my own product. I am now applying that Fortune 500 look and feel to my brand.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite pastime is going out to eat and drink. I could spend a whole weekend in the Ballpark District. Whether hanging out at the bar in the Rally Hotel before a game, grabbing a burger at the Denver Chophouse, or sipping on the finest cocktails at Seven Grand — either way is a chill time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank Joe Cruz of YaVe Tequila, who sat down with me twice to share his story of how he got started and gave me some insight into what it takes to get going in the alcohol industry.
