Meet Liz Zorn | Model & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Zorn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liz, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking has been the baseline of my entire career. In order to get to where I am today, I have had to take many risks that have left me wondering if I was really doing the right thing or if I was making a big mistake. Taking a huge risk to get to where you want to be in life is all about remembering why you’re taking it, what the ideal goal is that you have for the end, and having an insane amount of faith in yourself and in the world around you. But I know that if I hadn’t taken the risks I did, despite facing hardship while taking them, I would be stuck in the same place I was and I wouldn’t be happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a model and I am also a photographer. I started doing photography when I was around 10 years old when I was gifted my first digital camera. I practiced by taking photos of people and my friends in high school. Right after I graduated high school, modeling kind of came out of nowhere and began to take off faster than I expected, so I focused mostly on that and threw photography to the backburner. Getting older and realizing that while I absolutely love modeling, I also miss photography. Both are opportunities to be creative with cameras, but they are also so different with benefits of their own. So I’ve decided to do both. A lot of people have told me to pick one thing, but my goal is to integrate them so that I don’t have to give up one for the other! Building my own schedules and gathering my own clients in both fields has not been easy, and comes with a lot of uncertainty, but I truly believe that it’s going to pay off and I know it will be worth it when it does. Every small accomplishment I have in my businesses makes me even more motivated to keep building what I’ve started.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I always take people to Red Rocks! It’s so unique, and everyone’s gotta see it at least once! Whether a concert under the stars or just a hike during the day, there’s lots you can do there!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother. As someone who originally wanted me to finish college and get a degree, she has opened her mind up to the idea that it’s not for everyone, and she’s really took the time to understand how I feel in order to be as supportive as possible. She is now my biggest supporter, and she has been so generous in helping me out when I needed it more so that I could still have the opportunity to put my focus into my dreams. I really could not have gotten to where I am without her and her continuous support. And my boyfriend, who has never once doubted that I could do anything I put my mind to and always believed in me so deeply. He is always there to push me to keep going when times are harder and I think about giving up.
