We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’d been building a spiritual practise for a number of years and I really felt called to start sharing this with others. It really began on such a small scale and was never intended to be my main business and more like a side hustle. I started to lead small events with a couple of friends based around following the cycles of the moon and the events included meditation, journalling and a chance to rest/reflect. As I grew in confidence, I started to open this group out to the public- and was initially all by donation. It then began to grow and grow and now is my full time work.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve had a diverse range of careers during my life so far, but the one thing that ties them all together is an interest in people and their stories. I’ve been working with self development for almost 20 years now, and mostly through the medium of movement. Over the years I’ve taught dance, fitness, pilates and yoga and I’ve come to realise how important it is to care for and listen to our bodies in order to feel the best we can. Whether thats through conscious movement or mindfulness. Alongside this, I’ve also led self development workshops across the UK, Europe and USA. All the work I’ve done has contributed in some way to enable me to create and develop Luna Circle. I know all of that happened for a reason for me to have the skills I have now to be able to support people through difficult times in their lives.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was massively inspired by the work of Kirsty Gallagher (a moon mentor) after listening to her on the Saturn Returns podcast. It really gave me the push to start leading my own moon cycles, first with friends and then with the wider public. Another person who massively inspired my practise was Natalie Miles. Her podcast and meditations really set me on the path to exploring meditation and my capacities as a healer.
