We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Sorbet and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Perseverance is one of the most important qualities an entrepreneur can have. It is the ability to keep going, even when things are tough. It is the ability to pick yourself up after you fall down and keep trying. It is the ability to never give up on your dreams.

In entrepreneurship, there will be many obstacles and challenges. There will be times when you want to give up. There will be times when you think you can’t do it. But if you have perseverance, you will keep going. You will find a way to overcome the obstacles. You will achieve your dreams.

There are many examples of entrepreneurs who have succeeded because of their perseverance. Walt Disney was fired from his job at a newspaper because he was “not creative.” He went on to create one of the most successful entertainment companies in the world. J.K. Rowling was rejected by 12 different publishers before she finally got Harry Potter published. Now, Harry Potter is one of the most popular book series in the world.

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you need to have perseverance. You need to be willing to work hard and never give up on your dreams. You need to believe in yourself, even when others don’t. If you have perseverance, you will achieve anything you set your mind to.

Perseverance is essential for success in entrepreneurship. If you have the courage to keep going, even when things are tough, you will eventually achieve your dreams.

What should our readers know about your business?
I have a big, beautiful, custom-built portrait studio where my team photographs business professionals every day. The studio specializes in creating polished and professional headshots and personal branding portraiture.

What’s different about my business is that full-service photo sessions include an image and brand consultation. We can do this over Zoom, but most often we will go to the client’s home. This is an appointment we do a few weeks before the photoshoot to help you identify what you should wear in your photos that will help reinforce your brand aesthetic and attract your ideal client. What to wear is top of mind for most clients and this consultation relives that worry.

Another differentiator is professional hair and makeup application right on-site at our studio. Makeup for the camera is different than everyday makeup, so we include it as a part of the photo session so that clients look their very best.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would want to show them all the things I love about Colorado! So that would mean lots of hiking and picnics in the mountains followed by souvenir shopping and art perusing in the mountain towns.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The best thing I ever did for my career was hiring an industry-specific mentor. Having a mentor is career and life-changing. They’ve been through the hard stuff already and have the wisdom to provide advice that can give you a shortcut to success.
