We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Eckiss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal is to be a business leader at Progressive insurance. There’s not a lot of role models that look like me that are higher up, and I want to be that representative. I’m currently enrolled in Purdue college, finishing my bachelors in business management to help me achieve my goal.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started at Progressive as a sales consultant in February 2019 but I knew that I wanted more so originally my goal was to become a trainer. My goal was to get as much knowledge as possible so I up staffed to blended learning customer service, to CPT handling cancels, to underwriting and now I’m a coach. I did meet challenges along the way but my goal was to have a work life balance for my family and moving up was the only way to achieve that goal. The main thing I learned is that preparation is always best. I rehearsed interviewing for the position I wanted. Even enrolled back in college to help me with my future position. I want to be a role model for my children and leave them more that memories when I leave this earth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a person that loves to see the view so if my friend was visiting we would see lots of nature and scenery. I’d go to Garden of the Gods, 7 Falls and if we weren’t to tired finish at Mount Princeton. My bestie and I love to eat, I would take her to the Rabbit Hole just because I’ve never been and would want her to experience it with me but other that that I would cook on the grill and hang on the back porch let her meet the friends I have here and my sister.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give credit to my mother and sister! They have always had my back and supported me.
