Meet Joe Anthony | YouTube and Instagram Content Creator

I am a huge advocate of work life balance because it allows optimal mental & physical health. I’m a work-a-holic and I love what I do everyday. There can be challenges to maintaining a proper work-life balance when meeting new people throughout the day , to being on camera for livestreams and doing reviews on YouTube and Instagram in addition to attending all of the fragrance events. It’s important to take time to have a moment to recharge yourself.

The Joe from 10 years ago would have tried to push through , no matter what. I have learned the importance of taking care of myself after seeing family members grow up or get older . There still things I want to accomplish for myself.  I want to eventually have a relationship with a special someone for example but relationships take communication and trust but most of all – time. This is why work life balance is so critical . I’ve only recently realized the importance to “turn off the switch” and dedicate time to be Joe Anthony and not unAVERAGEJOE even  when I want to just keep going and doing. Breaks are necessary.

It’s a bit unconventional approach for both fields, YouTuber and Sales. I like the unconventional approach. It means you’re doing something that will make a way for others moving forward. When I first started YouTube, it was before anyone was paid by YouTube and before sponsors started to see the value of content creators. Back then, I was just doing it as a hobby and never thought I’d make a career out of it almost 11 years later. Amassing a following of  more than just my friends and family has been an additional blessing.

Balancing both lives  is never easy.  On one side you entertain as a content creator, while in sales you educate and try to secure transactions while cultivating relationships with customers and clients. Both require a lot of social energy and constant reinventing of new concepts to bring in new people .

I’ve been told I’ve become quite the natural for both. However, I think my drive for always striving to do better in addition to being critical of myself – has helped me to bring both of my worlds together.

A lot of the lesson I learned were through developing the most optimal customer service experience. Before I got into sales in 2022, I worked in the Emergency Room of one of Georgia’s largest hospital for 8 years including during the pandemic. Hearing people’s stories while trying to aid them in a time of need really put things into perspective. As a content creator and ambassador , I just strive to put the customer/viewer first.

The second thing I’ll say is we need at least a week just to cover NYC and Long Island lol.

In this scenario , a summer visit is probably the most ideal time to visit because you will be able to experience the most from New York. And we’ll focus on 2 areas just so we’re not overwhelmed or too tired to not appreciate where we go.

On Long Island, we’d have to visit Long Beach which is by my house and by JFK airport. Afterall, who doesn’t love to be by the beach .If you’re into fragrances I’d recommend checking out Maxaroma. A boutique in Long Island City that carries some amazing and exclusive fragrances. We also have to check out this amazing Italian restaurant called Casa de Fratelli in Westbury . Such amazing food for a great price and hospitable service . For concerts or events we should also check out the newly built UBS arena. It’s not just where the hockey team plays, it’s also a large and great venue for several other concerts & events.

And when we visit the city ,we have to get pizza at John’s on Bleeker St in NYC in Greenwich Village. For views we’d have to visit Summit One Vanderbilt. It has a great bar and THE BEST views of NYC. There’s also several different Broadway plays, Central Park , and usually many different free outdoor events within the city during the summer that makes it worth it .

I say that to say , I have so many people in my life I’ve encountered over the years that I am truly grateful for. From family to friends, to content creators along with a few coworkers from my time working in the fragrance section of Bloomingdale’s. The Joe Anthony or unAVERAGEJOE that you see today would not be the same, if I didn’t have the support of ALL of the amazing people in my life. I am truly grateful.
