Meet Monique Esberry | Product Creator and Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Monique Esberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monique, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Starting my business has been a journey that has taught me perseverance and self love. Initially when I began my journey, Ieas determined to help both people and pets that experienced severe skin issues. I learned how difficult it was to manage both channels and had to prioritize which market to provide products for.
I decided that I wanted to help animals with skin problems since they were underserved in terms of product options. What I discovered is the fear that comes from many veterinarians that discourage the use or organic products on pets. This misinformation has caused many pet parents to be reluctant to try organic products on a consistent basis although they have helped their pets.
During these challenging times, I was able to gather videos with feedback from pet groomers and other pet parents regarding the effectiveness of my products. I also learned how to treat my business as a baby, one that needed nurturing and constant attention and care.
The difficult times I experienced allowed me to learn more about the healing properties of my products and how it does more than help skin care issues. I learned that it is a clean agent that not only cleans skin but can effectively clean surfaces as well as plants. I expanded my product line into other categories such as surface cleaner, plant cleaner, leather cleaner, car cleaner, hot spots solutions for reptiles and birds, and other grooming products. These products are scheduled to hit the market in the fall f 2024 and are available in limited locations.
I have learned that when delays happen in life, it is an opportunity to slow down and allow the creative baking to manifest. Had I not experienced severe migraines and setbacks during this time, I would never have taken the time to learn about the magic of my product and how sustainable it is.
I have also learned that millions of people are exposed to harsh chemicals every day within their occupations or businesses. Offering an alternative cleaning agent will help reduce doctor’s visits and will help both people and animals live a better quality of life.
I also launched my music platform due to all of the hardships I experienced. I not only began writing and performing music but I started a YouTube channel. I speak often about my hardships and overcoming difficulties in life and to not give up my song lyrics. I also recognize the power of my voice and speak out against injustice and advocate for healthier families and communities.
For more information on my music please visit Sounds Of Omm on Spotify,, YouTube music and 25 other streaming platforms. My podcast is called Call Of My Ancestors and can be found on Spotify, Apple Podcast, and 6 other platforms. My YouTube channel is called Omm Speaks where I speak about a variety of different topics that impact our world and our society.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started a tea business in 2015 after trying to get my health back on track. I began helping people with medical issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes live healthier lives.
I’m 2016, I relocated back to Denver, Colorado from Houston, Texas. I meditated on how to create a hair and skincare product using the knowledge I acquired in making tea. After using this product for 1 year, I would later rescue a pigeon that had almost been hunted by a hawk. I used my hair and skincare product to help him and I could see that he enjoyed the product. Animal control picked up the pigeon and released him back into the wild. He wasn’t given any medication and was deemed perfectly fine. This experience encouraged me to help more animals with skin care issues.
I have learned to persevere and to not give up on what you believe in and to see your vision through. I overcame certain challenges by speaking out against racism I experienced in my podcast and constantly perfecting my products and marketing collateral.
I expanded my product line not only in cleaning products but I learned to created handmade soap, eye drops, periodontal gum cleaner, ear drops, and toothpaste for pets.
I want the world to know that if you experience challenges, it is an opportunity for creative growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite is La Guadalajara located in Aurora, Co. I typically order a pina colada and shrimp quesadillas. Some really interesting places to visit are Silver Creek Colorado where you will find amazing condos and indoor jacuzzi’s. Some exciting places to visit’s would be Buell Public Media Group where you can tour various radio stations such as PBS, KUVO Jazz, and The Drop.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother, Gwendolyn Walker-Gaal has been very instrumental in supporting me and encouraging me there my journey. She has been there for me in the highs and lows and encourages me not to give up on myself and to know that every inventor has a struggle they have had to overcome.
