We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Rennequin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Caroline, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Several lessons… That some dreams do come true.
That evolving one’s professional activity is an opportunity for personal growth.
That the path is never easy… but it is essential to do everything possible to achieve one’s dreams!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I am an artist; the financial dimension and the commercial reality of any creation come second. The primary focus should be on searching and creating. Accepting that these two stages are as contradictory as they are essential was a significant reflection for funding my research and then realizing a production of works that I could sell. I was finally ready to take that risk and believe in it.
I like to get up early in the morning :)! To have discipline, willpower, to cultivate hope and joy. To be a “good worker” of one’s own ideas…
I’ve learn several lessons along the way.
That some dreams do come true.

That the path is never easy… but it is essential to put in every effort to achieve one’s dreams!
Being an artist has been a certainty since my childhood. I cannot explain it. Living it fully imposed itself on me; I had no choice, in short. It is vital for me to be creative. I recognized my path naturally, and I am still learning to accept the constraints that come with it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve only been to Denver once, and I loved it ! But I don’t know the city well enough to provide an entire itinerary.
Of course I recommend Home Body Denver, the pretty boutique and concept store mixing fashion and design where you can find my work exhibited. Homebody is a stylish space filled with items that delight Denver’s art and decor enthusiasts. The owner, Dory, is a real passionate with impeccable taste.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am inspired by the people I have worked with: Isabel Marant and those with whom I am working now, Jerome Dreyfuss. Besides, the whole story is fascinating. I am inspired by love, art history, the human condition, current events, the weather…
