This is honestly something so important to me, and I’m so glad I get to talk about it! I’m one of nature’s born workaholics. I suspect it’s a combination of ADHD and growing up in Scotland to working-class parents who instilled in me a work ethic that can best be described as “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” And it’s honestly one of the worst things about me! I think we are all forever looking for the perfect work life balance (spoiler alert: I haven’t found it). But, I did find after having Franny (my one year old daughter) that I HAD to find some sort of balance. Having her put a lot of things into perspective for me. I strongly believe that work life balance is critical to my overall happiness and the way that I approach life. In 2020 I left my career as a CFO, where I was working 60 hour weeks, feeling extremely stressed, burnt out, and like I was an awful mother. Having two younger boys, I realized that I would never get this time back with them, and decided it was what I needed to do for all of us. I was unsure of my next steps, but felt strongly that the universe will provide, and if I choose to follow my heart, all will be ok. Read more>>

My work life balance in the beginning was not fully balanced. I was working between 60 to 70 hours a week, and it just wasn’t sustainable. Since then, I had to learn that days off, are very important for the body and mind. I have restructured when my days off will be while also making sure that the things that need to be done before those days off, are finished. Read more>>
