Meet Rebecca P. Cohen | Fulfillment Coach and Founder, ShareMyJourney


We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca P. Cohen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca P., do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I love this quote from Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
When ShareMyJourney was just a dream, Maya Angelou’s words always reminded me of my uncle Matt who had passed. During his life, I didn’t see him often, but his authenticity and presence made you feel welcome, comfortable, and that you could just be yourself as you navigated life.
The people who show up to connect in ShareMyJourney are this way. The mutual support is present and unconditional. We all have something to share about our path and something to receive that softens the edges of life a bit.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ShareMyJourney was born from the idea that it shouldn’t be so hard to find someone who can share their life experience about what you want to know. When you have the information you seek, it informs your preferences and we get farther faster, or with at least a little more grace and self compassion to know we are not alone.
At times, advice from family and friends is well meant, but we can feel judged or that it isn’t based on similar circumstances. In ShareMyJourney, with a simple request, most of the time we can find someone willing to share their experience with a situation you are facing, whether with family, career, or a personal life circumstance.
In addition to the ability to ask for a one-on-one conversation, ShareMyJourney virtual circles are based on elements of coaching that I equate to creating deeper fulfillment in your life: Accountability, Manifesting, Discovering What’s Next for You, and Processing Emotion. We even have a Caregiver Circle for those caring for aging parents or ill family members. Rather than presenting information to each circle, members share what is happening in their lives related to the topic. A monthly virtual coffee is another way to connect. A ShareMyJourney member signs up to facilitate each circle and guide the discussion. Each person who attends a circle is somehow meant to be there together. It’s a beautiful thing to witness and be a part of.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in Steamboat Springs, which is a year-round outdoor playground with a great food scene. First, we’d walk along the Yampa River or in summer or fall, we’d bike on the Core Trail. Next we’d have a great meal at one of my favorite places in town. For breakfast, Winona’s (but get there before 9am or you’ll have to wait!), For lunch, Cruisers sandwich shop. For dinner, Besame. Almost all of Steamboat Springs’ restaurants have great happy hour deals, so if you are willing to eat early, give a restaurant a call and find out when to be there for happy hour. In the summer, there is a great weekend Farmer’s Market on Yampa Street. On our main street, Lincoln Avenue, there are great shops and boutiques. Don’t leave without Daniella’s dark chocolate almond toffee bark from The Homesteader. It’s my favorite local gift to give friends and family.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this Shoutout to the wonderful people who have participated in and supported ShareMyJourney along the way, from current members to alumni, family, and friends. ShareMyJourney is about offering your life experience in service of others for the greater good. ShareMyJourney wouldn’t exist without them! It’s a collective of people helping people, now celebrating five years. I am grateful for each and every person I have encountered along the way to help me and others learn and grow.
