Meet Lisa Duerre | CEO & Co-Founder, RLD Group

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Duerre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Juggling leading a business, parenting, and living with lipedema has shown me the importance of letting go of perfect ideals of work-life balance. I now think of defining work-life balance for myself based on my unique needs. Over time, I’ve found that prioritizing, delegating and asking for help helps me feel balanced.
Embracing flexibility and adaptability has been crucial in creating harmony (and sanity) between my work and personal life. I see balance not as a static state but as a continuous adjustment and alignment process based on evolving priorities and circumstances

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RLD Group is a WBENC certified boutique strengths-based leadership development coaching and consulting firm. We help organizations take culture transformation out of the clouds, banish burnout, and increase wellbeing. We are in the business of rebooting leadership drive.
What sets RLD Group apart is our approach to leadership development coaching and consulting through the FIRM (Flexibility, Intuition, Resilience, and Mindfulness) Leadership Model. Our FIRM Leadership model prioritizes burnout prevention and organizational wellbeing focusing on the humans in tech. We have successfully lead organizations and teams inside tech and we understand how to lead in the complex and unrelenting pressure of the tech industry. Another important aspect of our approach is that we do not offer off-the-shelf solutions. Instead, our process is to co-create solutions with our clients.
I am really proud of the evolution of our services and offerings. We started in 2017 with a focus on burnout prevention and have evolved with broader ranges of services that equip organizations, teams and leaders to create workplaces that work for all.
My 20+ years of experience working as a Silicon Valley leader, 12 years as a working mom, and a decades as a woman living with undiagnosed lipedema have shaped our mission and approach.
We believe true leadership isn’t just about achieving results; it’s about fostering environments where individuals can thrive personally and professionally. Leadership begins with each individual recognizing their strengths and blindspots, paving the way for thriving teams that serve as the cornerstone of flourishing organizations.
Navigating the complexities of managing a chronic disease while leading a team has been anything but easy some days. The upside is that our team has lived experience and understands the critical need for greater workplace understanding of what is going on behind the Zoom screen and leadership skill building. Our FIRM model addresses these needs,
We want the world to know that at RLD Group, we’re rebooting leadership drive and shaping a future where inclusion and wellbeing drive a flourishing workplace.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here’s my list of not-to-miss activities and places to visit around Portland that you may not know about:
Horsetail Falls and Multnomah Falls: This is my happy place. Easy to get to, accessible and simpy beautiful waterfalls.
Jet Boats on the Willamette River: I have not done this yet but if a friend were in town I would suggest it – it looks like fun and a great way to see the city by water.
Powell’s Books: If you want to visit an iconic bookstore – this is the place. I love books and have to take my time here as there is so much variety.
Holy Taco in Lake Oswego: This is my favorite place to grab a delicious taco and window shop. We also love to eat on the patio and then look at the lake nearby.
Backyard Birdshop in West Linn: It is one of my favorite places to learn more birds and browse in their shop.
Food Trucks at Willamette Garage: We love it here – lots to choose from and a fun laid back vibe for families.
Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm Tulip Festival: Tulips are my favorite flower and this is a not-to-miss. Family friendly, lots of places to sit and so much to see/do.
Cannon Beach and Seaside: My favorite beaches and towns on the Oregon Coast. So much to do, see and take in. Breathtaking, great shopping and dining too.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lots of credit and recognition go to Randy my husband of 18+ years, COO & Co-Founder of RLD Group, my daughter Emily and my sister Sheri. They are three of my biggest cheerleaders, supporters and are gifts to my world. Lots of love to them!
I’d also like to presence my appreciation and recognize the members of RLD Group’s Collective. These coaches and consultants are a gift to our world. It’s an honor to co-create solutions for our clients with them.
Finally, I’d like to thank Lipedema Simplified and Lipedema Project for their science based and patient focused approach to provide research, education and community support for the 1 in 11 women living with Lipedema. I am living well with Lipedema in large part, because of these organizations. #grateful
