We had the good fortune of connecting with Heilyn Centeno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heilyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Initially I started making birthday cakes for my daughter, and I realized that I was good, and that I really liked it, it was a hobby because I had another profession, the recipe was my mother’s. When I arrived here in the United States almost 5 years ago, I started making cakes for people close to me, and they liked the taste, so I decided to undertake and start offering my product, and that’s how I grew step by step.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I got to where I am based on all the recommendations of my clients, it has not been easy at all and I continue to learn and grow step by step, the most difficult thing is knowing that what you do will like the person who is buying from you, so every day They are a challenge, in addition to reaching more clients every day, the most important lesson I have learned is confidence, having confidence in myself and that I can achieve everything I set my mind to.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I really think that I would take it to all the food places that I like, I love to eat and try things, I also really like margaritas, also, I live in Denver, Colorado, the weather is usually very cold, but there are beautiful landscapes, especially towards the mountains, and I would go with my family, who always accompany me, I would go to a park to jump and relax, I would also take her to the zoo, and if it is summer, there are many more places to visit, like lakes to go to take a bath and cool off

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my efforts to my family, especially to my husband, since he always has positive encouragement for my work, and is also my perfect assistant, thank you for so much
