Meet Kristin Hannay | Owner + Founder of Traxx Social

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Hannay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Truly, I never intended to start a business in digital marketing and website design. It was one of those opportunities that fell into my lap once I started saying yes to more things and stepping tentatively into the industry to see if it was something I’d enjoy doing. Turns out, I absolutely loved the industry, loved the people I had the opportunity to shadow and learn from, and the Lord provided growth for my business right off the bat!

I have known the struggles of managing a business’s social media presence when it’s literally the lowest thing on your priority list. It can’t be your full-time job when you’re also the key decision maker for your business, juggling employees, strategizing for your business, AND trying to have a personal life where you can. I have personally felt the lows that burnout can cause in that situation and I didn’t want other people to experience that and feel like there was no solution. That’s why I started my digital marketing company – to serve as the “internal yet independent” marketing team for businesses here in Denver who see the value in work life balance and recognize the importance of growing their business online in order to also grow it in person!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My background is in non-profit marketing and event planning. I know the struggles of working with a shoestring budget and having to raise our own support in order to do the simplest of tasks. I know the struggle of being overworked and under paid and under valued. That’s why I’m so passionate about what I do now, because I’ve personally experienced the things I’m working to combat. My team and I function as business’s in-house yet independent marketing team so businesses can focus on what they do best: crafting an incredible product or service and delivering it to the best of their abilities. We work to eliminate the other stresses and take the marketing strategy, content creation, website management, and daily ins and outs of social media off our client’s plates so they can function at their very best!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
GREAT question. If my best friend was visiting town, I would pack a day full of the following:

Brunch at Jelly’s Cafe
Walk around the Botanical Gardens and swing by the City Park Farmer’s Market (let’s imagine it’s a Saturday)
Afternoon coffee at Honey Hill Cafe
Head up to Estes Park with my pup for a little hike at Kruger Rock Trail (let’s pretend it’s not that far of a drive)
Then back to Denver to meet up with friends for sunset dinner and drinks at Avanti’s outdoor rooftop to close out the evening!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My team deserves so much more credit than I would ever give in one sitting. Their creativity and dedication is unmatched. They work with whatever I give them and turn it into something so beautiful for our clients to work with and be proud of. I feel like a proud mom anytime I see my team at work producing things that are far beyond my creativity and levels of experience. I’m just so grateful to be surrounded by such incredible people every single day.
