We had the good fortune of connecting with Kasey Alarcon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kasey, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I think when it comes to achieving anything, it’s a normal part of the process that somewhere down the line, we can feel like wanting to giving up/ and or quit. I think it’s natural to at some point question yourself or to feel a bit inadequate. But I know that whether it’s striving for an athletic career, reaching a major milestone, or just perfecting your own skills, in order to progress & grow as an individual you will need to find away to navigate through the struggles that it takes to get there. It’s natural to at some point question yourself about which direction you’re going or to feel doubtful.

Usually how I decide whether or not to continue putting my energy, time or effort into a situation or project, by asking myself these questions. Is what I am doing bringing me enough happiness to keep going? Do I genuinely enjoy what I am doing? And could I continue or would that feel like a burden? Is this still a passion of mine or am just going through the motions in order to get to the end result? Are the results of what I am doing worth the effort it took to get there? Are the outcomes of said pursuit bringing me a sense of fulfillment?

When it comes to achieving something, there will be times when you are tested. but those are just opportunities to learn & adapt that will eventually help you grow in the end.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I have also been into art, music, and photography since I was a young child. I was enrolled in my first photography class when I was around 10-11 years old and I continued from there. Currently I enjoy creating random videos from vlogs to music edits. I enjoy it as a hobby and also as a form of creative experimentation. I originally started this because I am hoping to explore/expand more skills & techniques when it comes to more intricate styles of editing & videography.

I also like to create tarot content, as well as offering personalized readings as a form of entertainment on my other platforms like TikTok and YouTube.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to some good brunch shops and coffee houses. I would personally check out places like cafe 13 or Corvus coffee RiNo in the arts district. The food and venue are fun and enjoyable.

Then maybe check out some oddities shops like the learned lemur shop for some antiquing and thrift shopping. This place as a cool aesthetic theme to it that definitely makes it a destination spot.

then later on into the night I would take them down to visit whiskey row for some drinks/sports games & dancing.

For a more unique vibe for a night out I’d hit up a jazz bar like Nocturne for something different from the average bar/ club , and then stop at a place called Meadowlark for some underground dancing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give acknowledgment & express gratitude to both my mom & dad. They both supported me in all of my creative pursuits growing up. They were always teaching & encouraging me to express myself especially artistically.

They were both creative & artistic people individually, and they were always my biggest supporters who continued to invest in me.

In terms of creative inspiration there have been many creators online that help spark some inspiration.
I really enjoy the digital creators of @studyholmes & @warlockedits
