To pivot or to persevere? Or more bluntly – to give up or to not to give up? This is a haunting question, a question that has ramifications far after an answer has been chosen and it’s also a question that almost everyone in our community has had to face at one time or another. How do you know when to give up and when to keep trying?

Nineteen years ago, we were young, in love and expecting. Life was full of surprises, but in a way that was not only a blessing, but also terrifying. The idea of giving up on anything didn’t even seem plausible, unfortunately that also applied to the things in our life that were no longer serving us, but we couldn’t distinguish between the two. That may sound confusing and I think the concept of “never give up” was so ingrained in us as young people coming from difficult lives, that you forget that “giving up” sometimes can be a good thing. To be honest the question of keep going or just give up is something that I ask myself often. I know I will never give up, it has never been an option for me that doesn’t mean I don’t think about it sometimes. I have days that are so hard, but what always brings me back are my clients! I know every stylist probably says that they have the best clients but I truly do believe my clients are the best! They are kind, beautiful, understand and the most supportive people I have ever met. When I get to see them it blesses my day every time. I know I will never give up because of the conversations me and my clients have, the memories we share, the confidence they get after a hair appointment and the mutual love and respect we have!
