We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Mount and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, how do you think about risk?
Risk is something I find very exhilarating, and it’s something I have a good handle on naturally. I am very grateful for this actually. The colloquial saying ‘no risk, no reward’ really has a lot of truth to it. If you don’t take chances then you’ll never reap the benefits. Just choosing the entrepreneurial lifestyle in the creative arts is taking a big chance. The reward is built in. Making a living off my art is the most satisfying, and validating career choice ever.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart…I always have a hard time answering this question! I’m not exactly sure what does to be honest, and I’m not sure I can objectify myself enough to give a confidence answer. I believe my attitude, and work ethic ultimately sets me apart. Challenges are a natural part of life, and it’s important to be patient with yourself during these times. I respect my field so much, and I will always reflect that through my approach.

I got to where I am for many reasons, but if I were to nail down one it would be that I am picky about who I spend my time around both professionally, and personally. You are the company you keep, and it took me a while to figure that out, but once I did it was noticeable how much my success benefited. The people in your immediate surroundings have a significant impact on where you’re going to end up as a person.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you so much for having me! The person who deserves all the credit is my husband, Daniel Steigleder. He is the most supportive, my biggest fan, an extraordinary musician himself, and an amazing person. I am so fortunate to have him by my side on stage, and in life.

If I can dedicate this shoutout to anyone it would be everyone who has supported me along the way, and anyone who hasn’t. Both of these groups of people have played an integral role in who I am today. I am beyond grateful for all of my accomplishments, and achievements.
