We had the good fortune of connecting with Brooke Hague and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brooke, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting Soulcravt was a deeply personal and spiritual journey for me. It began as a way to blend my passions for photography, art, and spirituality into something meaningful that would help inspire and empower others as well. I wanted to create a space that reflected my own growth, recovery, and the purpose I’ve found in helping others connect with their inner selves. Soulcravt became that outlet—a way to share not just my craft, but also the energy and intention behind it. Whether it’s through photography that captures raw, soulful moments or handcrafting rune boxes infused with symbolism, or helping others navigate the messiness of this world, Soulcravt is about inspiring others to embrace their own unique journey. It’s a reflection of my belief that creativity and spirituality go hand in hand, and I’m so grateful to have turned that vision into reality.

If there is one piece of advice I could give about starting your own business, it would be to turn your passion and hobby into your income. You deserve to be paid to exist and nobody can take that from you. Reality is bendable and you must shape it to align with your soul purpose.

My art stands out because it reflects my unique combination of spirituality, recovery, and deep connection to nature and creativity. I infuse intentionality into every piece, whether it’s photography, divination tools, or building courses to help others align with their purpose. This authenticity resonates with those seeking meaningful, soulful art that tells a story or sparks transformation.

Soulcravt’s ability to integrate symbolism, such as runes and synchronicities, into our creations adds a layer of mysticism and purpose. By weaving personal growth and spiritual insights into our art, We not just creating pieces—we are offering an experience that connects with others and their journey on a deeper level.

Here are a few lessons I have learned on my journey of creating Soulcravt:

1. Authenticity Connects

Creating from a place of authenticity and passion resonates with my audience. People are drawn to the story behind your art as much as the piece itself.

2. Balance Creativity and Business

It’s not just about making art; it is also about learning the importance of marketing, pricing, and managing logistics like inventory and shipping and content delivery.

3. Consistency is Key

From social media posts to fulfilling orders, staying consistent builds trust and loyalty among customers. Additionally, staying consistent with the foundation of my spirituality, even in the midst of chaos is crucial.

4. Know Your Worth

Pricing art can be challenging, but I have learned the value of your time, materials, and the energy you pour into your creations. Stepping out of fear and destroying limiting beliefs is the crucial first step to manifesting the life of your dreams and creating your own reality. If you don’t know your worth, you diminish your own light.

5. Community Matters

Collaborations, feedback from customers, and support from fellow artists are essential. Building a network helps you grow and stay inspired.

6. Adaptability is Crucial

Trends change, as do customer needs.

7. Boundaries Protect Creativity

Burnout is real, especially when turning your passion into a business. Learn to balance creating for others with taking care of yourself and your own creative and spiritual needs. Mental health matters and is a crucial foundation to the way we show up for ourselves as well as others.

8. Spiritual Practices Enhance Your Work

Your spiritual connection and morning rituals (like burning incense and meditating) help you stay grounded, centered, and inspired in your life purpose and how you show up in life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to the mountains- The Great Sand Dunes to help them connect with Spirit and their life journey. After that, we would hit a few hotsprings- Joyful Journey and Indian Hills Hotsprings in Idaho Springs for self care and a deeper connection with themselves. We would then loop back to Denver and hit a few metaphysical stores- Ritualcravt, Isis and Mountain Man Minerals to name a few. Before we turn in for the night, we would hit the Beacon Denver for some good music and vibes and dance our hearts out. It would be a few days of a journey into the Colorado life because there are so many great things to do and see in our state!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have carefully built and attracted an incredible support system of which we fuel each other’s passions and embark on our own journeys with authenticity, audacity and no judgement. While there are too many to name, The biggest supporters being my mom, my daughter and the owners of The Norse Craftsman- Jack and Sherry Phares. From listening to my rants about life and spirituality, to helping each other navigate life struggles and helping me step out of fear and into being fully alive, I couldn’t have done it without such a beautiful family.

I also want to make a shoutout to all of my friends and family for being my practice in photography and allowing me to do multiple photoshoots when I have new ideas and want to learn new techniques. Your patience in helping me grow my skills behind the lens has been greatly appreciated!
