Meet Krista Mauss | Aerialist, Entrepreneur, & Accountant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Krista Mauss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Krista, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Pole Revolution is a community unlike any other. In a world filled with negativity, especially between women, having a space where clients have found comradery, community, encouragement, confidence, and friendship has been incredible. Even on the hardest of business ownership days, the feedback and joy from our clients make it all worth it. When I first purchased the studio, I wasn’t aware of the impact that having a safe space for expression and creativity would have on the community of Colorado Springs. Attending classes in our space promotes body positivity and empowers individuals to embrace their bodies. It’s where identities can feel accepted and celebrated while building physical strength and confidence. Spaces like ours promote a happier and healthier local community, and it shows in our clients and their interactions with us and each other.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am incredibly proud that I took a chance on myself and bought Pole Revolution at the young age of twenty-three when I had no clue how to run a business or what it would take. Business ownership has been one of the most challenging yet fulfilling things I have ever done. I purchased a business out of a basement and turned it into a successful 6 figure business. It’s a feeling of accomplishment unlike any other. There were many sleepless nights and tears over the last seven years to get to where I am now. At many times, the thought of giving up crosses your mind.
Overcoming difficulties as a young entrepreneur is a journey of lessons, growth, and resilience. When you’re starting out, it can often feel like you’re walking a tightrope, balancing the excitement of your ideas with the realities of running a business. But it’s these challenges that shape your character and determination. As a young entrepreneur, you face self-doubt, lack of experience, financial struggles, and balancing your personal life.
In the end, no matter what you’re trying to achieve, entrepreneurship is about persistence. It’s about realizing that every setback is an opportunity to learn, and every challenge is a test of your passion and resilience. Keep pushing forward, and always stay curious. The road might not be easy, but it’s yours to navigate, and every step you take brings you closer to realizing your dreams.
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is to never give up, and that failure or moving on to something better does not mean you are a failure. Everything can be a lesson for improvement and growth, and it’s okay to let go of things that no longer serve purpose in your life. To not underestimate your abilities and to not undercharge for what you’re worth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Colorado Springs is one of the most incredible towns in Colorado to visit. It is filled with endless scenic and outdoor activities in addition to a ton of incredible places to eat and drink. Some must see places on my list to explore is Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Manitou, The Broadmoor Hotel (especially at Christmas Time), Pulpit Rock. The outdoor exploring is endless here.
In addition, some of my favorite places to eat and drink are Shuga’s, Jax Fish House, The Rabbit Hole, Bloom Ultra Lounge, The Archives, Garden of the Gods Resort, and Metric Brewing. To be completely honest, the list of incredible businesses here is endless and it just keeps getting better as the city grows with new places popping up all the time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my dad, Leo, and my cousin, Chris. Through examples in their businesses, they have shown me how to persevere as a young entrepreneur. They have taught me how to be a stern leader, be a giving business owner, and care for others with grace and kindness. Business ownership is no easy task, and having successful ones in my family has led me to success in my own business, for which I am forever grateful.
I would also like to thank my studio manager and friend Leah, without whom, the studio would not have the success it has now. She is incredible and has done so much for the success and growth of the studio I am so thankful for all her hard work, dedication, and friendship.
In addition to the three of them, I want to thank my incredible friends and family. Who remind me every day what I am capable of and keep me motivated and moving forward even when I want to give up.
