We had the good fortune of connecting with Dave Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dave, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business stemmed from years of attending art fairs, where I found inspiration in the creativity and passion of other artists. Over time, I began to believe that my own photography was strong enough to be showcased alongside them. I had a collection of images that I was truly proud of, and I wanted to share them with others in a meaningful way.
One of my initial motivations was the idea of creating a source of passive income. Selling prints and artwork allowed me to turn my passion into something sustainable while still giving me the freedom to explore and create. I saw it as an opportunity to build something of my own—something that could grow over time and open new doors.
Beyond the financial aspect, I genuinely enjoy connecting with people. Art has the power to transform a space, and I love the idea of helping others make their homes more beautiful with my work. Whether it’s through conversations at art fairs or seeing someone light up when they find a piece that speaks to them, the human connection is just as rewarding as the creative process itself.
Ultimately, starting my own business was about believing in my work, taking a leap, and sharing my passion with others. It combined my love for art, my desire for independence, and my appreciation for the connections that come from sharing creativity with the world.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The inspiration behind Cercatrova Photography was rooted in a deep love for travel, a passion for teaching, and a strong artistic vision. The name “Cercatrova”, meaning “seek and you shall find”, perfectly embodies the philosophy of exploration, discovery, and storytelling through photography. The journey began with a desire to capture the beauty of the world, not just through images but through experiences that inspire and educate others.
Travel has always been a driving force behind the business. Every destination offers a unique story, a new perspective, and an opportunity to see the world through a different lens. The goal was to document these places in a way that goes beyond traditional photography—capturing emotions, cultures, and the essence of each moment. Through this, Cercatrova Photography became a way to share the wonder of travel and inspire others to see the world with fresh eyes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
