Meet Taylor Knese | Functional Health Practitioner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Knese and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, what principle do you value most?
If I had to choose one principle that drives everything I do, it would be empowerment—specifically, empowering women to take control of their health and well-being.
For years, I watched so many women—myself included—feel unheard, dismissed, or shuffled through a system that treats symptoms rather than the whole person. It’s frustrating, exhausting, and unnecessary. Our bodies are constantly communicating with us, but if we aren’t given the right tools, education, and support, it’s easy to feel like we’re just stuck.
At Mod Health Co., empowerment isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the foundation of how we do everything. Whether it’s through personalized functional medicine, deep-dive lab testing, or breaking down complex health topics in a way that actually makes sense, my mission is to ensure women have the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves.
Because at the end of the day, your health isn’t just about food or supplements or stress management—it’s about trusting yourself again. And if I can play a role in helping women regain that power, then I know I’m doing exactly what I was meant to do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mod Health Co. was born out of frustration—frustration with women being dismissed, told their labs are “normal” when they feel anything but, and given band-aid solutions instead of real answers. I’ve been there myself, and I know firsthand how exhausting it is to feel unheard in your own health journey.
What sets Mod Health Co. apart is that we don’t just give protocols—we give personalized, root-cause driven care that helps women reclaim their energy, balance their hormones, heal their gut, and feel like themselves again. Our Mod Membership is a game-changer, offering functional lab testing, deep support, and real education so that women don’t just follow a plan—they actually understand their health on a deeper level.
Getting here wasn’t easy. Leaving the comfort of “safe” career choices and diving headfirst into entrepreneurship took courage (and a few sleepless nights). But every challenge, from building a brand to earning trust in a sea of misinformation, has been worth it. The biggest lesson? People don’t just want information—they want transformation. And that’s what we deliver.
At the end of the day, I want the world to know that women deserve better wellness care—and I’m here to make sure they get it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I would make sure it was in the summer! We’d kick things off with brunch at Shuga’s, my absolute favorite spot for eclectic vibes, amazing food, and the best lavender lemonade. From there, we’d explore Garden of the Gods, taking in the red rock formations before wrapping up the day with dinner at Four by Brother Luck, where the menu never disappoints. The next day would start with coffee at Loyal Coffee before strolling through the charming shops and galleries of Old Colorado City. Lunch would be at Pizzeria Rustica, and we’d unwind with full bellies and a mineral soak at SunWater Spa in Manitou.
For adventure, we’d drive up Pikes Peak for epic views, followed by brunch at Urban Steam. The night could end with dinner and drinks at The Rabbit Hole, a quirky underground eatery. Another morning would start with a sunrise hike at Red Rock Canyon Open Space, then a quick breakfast at The Exchange downtown. We’d spend the afternoon exploring Manitou Springs, hitting up the penny arcade and sipping from the natural spring water fountain, before heading to 503W for craft beer and some amazing Asian fusion dishes.
A day to visit the The Broadmoor, soaking in the gorgeous historic setting, and end the night with dinner at The Famous Steakhouse for live jazz and old-school steakhouse vibes. No trip to Colorado Springs would be complete without more time outdoors, so we’d visit Seven Falls, take on The Incline or go for a hike in Cheyenne Mountain State Park. A fun night would include catching a Switchbacks soccer game or a show at the Pikes Peak Center.
To wrap up the trip, we would do Sunday brunch at The Margarita at Pine Creek, a hidden gem with a dreamy patio, before browsing downtown’s local shops for last-minute treasures and one-of-a-kind finds. For a perfect send-off, we’d enjoy sunset drinks at Lumen8 Rooftop Social, taking in the city skyline with the mountains in the background. By the time they leave, they’ll be stuffed, sun-kissed, and totally in love with Colorado Springs—just the way it should be.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The first person I have to acknowledge is Tiffany Graham—the one who told me to “Burn the Boat.” At the time, I was at a crossroads, balancing caution with ambition. Taking that leap and going all in on Mod Health Co. was the best decision I ever made, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that push.
Equally instrumental in my journey is my mentor, Jade Etter. Crafting effective, personalized health protocols is at the core of what we do at Mod Health Co., and Jade’s education mentorship gave me the confidence to develop truly transformative plans for our clients. Her guidance not only refined my approach but also reinforced the belief that the right functional health strategy can change lives.
To Tiffany and Jade—thank you for your wisdom, your support, and the impact you’ve had on my path. Mod Health Co. wouldn’t be what it is today without you.
