We had the good fortune of connecting with Abigail Dixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abigail, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For me, it wasn’t really a choice—it was a necessity.

Creativity isn’t just something I do—it’s how I breathe. Whether I am up writing stories until 3 AM, stress-baking cookies, or throwing a party simply because “it’s Tuesday and life is worth celebrating,” I have always needed a creative outlet to feel normal. When I don’t have that, something in me starts to fizzle out.

Being able to channel that need into a career has been incredible. Even on 16-hour days when my body is begging me to stop, half the time it doesn’t even feel like work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart in business is the same thing that has always set me apart in life: I don’t do anything halfway. I give everything—often more than I even have. When I take on a project, I pour myself into it—heart, mind, and soul. It is never just a job to me. Every event I create, every client I serve… they matter.

But here’s the truth: when you lead with that level of dedication—without first establishing boundaries or knowing your own worth—people will take advantage of it. Hard.

For a long time, I believed that the more I gave, the more people would value me. I thought that if I just kept pouring myself out, they would eventually see what I was worth. But the exact opposite turned out to be true. I learned the hard way that value doesn’t come from being used up—it comes from being authentic, intentional, and respected.

Professionally, nothing about my journey has been easy. I have had to fight for my voice, my worth, and sometimes even my sanity. But every challenge has shaped me. I have learned how to build beauty out of chaos, how to lead with both heart and strength, and how to create unforgettable experiences that bring vision and dream to life.

What I want people to know about the Bella Vie brand is that we truly believe life is beautiful, and we want to make it beautiful for you. We will pour ourselves into seeing your dream realized, and go so far above and beyond for our clients that it borders on the ridiculous.

But we won’t do it for just anyone.

People choose us, but we choose them, too. And for those who see the value in us, we will deliver value to them beyond anything they can imagine.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely be visiting Sweet Heart Winery in Loveland to enjoy a glass of Petite Sirah by the river. A day in Estes Park, floating the Poudre River (in the summertime) and ending in Old Town Fort Collins for dinner and brewery hopping. (I don’t even like beer, but it is still one of the coolest things to do). Hiking the Horsetooth Rock Trail early in the morning, camping in the Poudre Canyon, fancy charcuterie picnics at the park while we talk about books and writing and all things creative.

There would be be firepit/grilling/game nights with our friends that would go far too late and the ultimate girls’ night experience complete with cute pajamas, a pimped out blanket fort, too much wine and chocolate, and binge-watching something awesome like New Girl or Schitt’s Creek.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first shoutout would have to go to my mother, Laurel, and to my partner in crime, Charis, who have both been with me from wedding #1, helping me to create pure magic. The creativity and work ethic these ladies have is unreal, and the way the three of us work together is nothing short of synergistic. It has reached a point where I am honestly convinced we can read each other’s minds. So much of the time, we won’t even use words; we will just look at each other and know exactly what needs to be done.

My second shoutout has to go to my husband, Christopher, who has been the most incredible support and strength to me in this crazy whirlwind of running my own business. I quite literally could not have done one day of this without him.

My third shoutout is a package deal. There are so many incredible vendors I have met in the last year who have become genuine friends, and the support they have given me has been everything. I can’t name them all, but there are a handful that I absolutely have to:

Heather Greiner – Nothing Batter Bakery, Heather Marie Photography

Robert Guillory and Josh Kirby – Southern Bell Catering
Desiree Gustafson – Loveland + South Lifestyle Magazine
Jenny Maxwell – Occasionally Fabulous Events
Amity Gleason – Amity Alexandra Jewelry Design

Every one of these amazing humans has gone above and beyond to encourage me, partner with me and honestly just believe in me more than I ever expected.
