Meet Jennifer Smith

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I want to use my skill set to help people.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an athlete and endurance sports coach.
I have been a professional athlete in three sports: running, mountain biking, and Xterra triathlon, having represented New Zealand at the World Championship level in all three.
I began coaching other athletes in 2009 and founded my company, Jenny Smith Coaching, in 2011.
Now it has evolved into Aim high-performance coaching, where my husband and I coach athletes across multisport, cycling, triathlon, Nordic skiing, and junior development programs.
I have and continue to grow through athletics, motherhood, and family through the lens of a healthy lifestyle supporting athletic performance and mental health.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Gunnison, Colorado; I would take them outdoors to our natural places, Hartman Rocks, Blue Mesa, and Crested Butte.
We would bike, hike, swim, and in the winter, Nordic ski and snowshoe.
We would often drink coffee at the Double Shot Cyclery, a bookstore cafe in Crested Butte. We would eat at Sherpa Cafe, Ryce in CB, and Patcheree’s Kitchen in Gunnison.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, for certain. Brian Smith
