Meet Dr. Christina Galatioto | Doctor of Chiropractic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Christina Galatioto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Christina, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The name of my business, Compassionate Chiropractic, strongly reflects my values as a Doctor of Chiropractic and as a provider in the healthcare system overall. I have had too many bad experiences in doctors’ offices. I have often felt rushed and not able to ask questions, belittled about my concerns, not warned about how recovery would be after my wrist surgery, and given a one-size-fits all treatment plan. As patients, we should feel like our providers are a part of our team- not that we are just a part of their high-volume business. I am extremely passionate about providing individualized care as well as listening and focusing on the details my patients choose to tell me. I also make sure patients know the what and why behind their treatment plan with a focus on reaching their goals.
The name itself comes from a group I was a part of in chiropractic school called Compassion Circles. This was a student-lead group overseen by one of the school’s counselors and met on zoom once per week. It was an open group for students to join whenever they want. Students could participate in discussions or simply sit back and listen. With a relaxed atmosphere (students often ate dinner or did laundry during meetings), this group talked about anything and everything- from school stress, to relationship struggles, to ranting about teachers, talking about religion, and so on.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I don’t think I have ever been the smartest doctor in the room. However, I think I have excellent bedside manner because it is something I hold to a higher priority than showing off my knowledge. Providing a comfortable environment is the first step in showing a patient how you can help them and why they should trust you. If I can’t find a solution to a patient’s concern, I am not afraid to admit that I don’t have an answer for them and work with them to find someone who can help them better. I want my patients to know that I am a part of their team. That is more important to me than trying to convince them I am the best chiropractor in the world and can solve all their problems- because I’m not and I can’t!
I am very early into my career and my business only opened in September of 2024. I am currently open Saturdays but at the end of 2025 I will be transitioning to part-time at my other job in order to provide more availability at my own clinic. I did not “take the leap” into quitting my full-time job to open my clinic full-time as several other chiropractors insisted I should do. I had already taken the leap by moving across country. Now, I am making sure I am financially stable enough to not go into business or personal debt. Of course, I have plenty of student loans!
I have received a lot of advice that didn’t always feel in line with my philosophy. I am not willing to increase my prices at this time. I am also not willing to quit my other job to go full-time with my clinic because I have a lot of financial responsibilities to maintain right now. I am not willing to take full-spine radiographs on every new patient- I prefer to recommend imaging when it is necessary during the course of care. I am not willing to sell expensive long-term treatment packages. I want to meet people (patients) where they are at and support them in whatever way I can. Again, I don’t love a one-size-fits-all treatment plan and ask patients if treatment is effective or if not, how we can change it together.
I want to make sure every decision I make for my business helps provide compassionate healthcare to my community. I want to support good causes and provide massage and stretching at sporting events. I want to continue to reach out to midwives, doulas, and lactation consultants to help me better learn how I can support the moms and babies in my clinic.
I am very young in my business career and will continue to build my practice by prioritizing compassionate healthcare. I am very excited to see what the next year brings!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My mom, sister, boyfriend and I will be going on an overnight stay at the Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort next to Garden of the Gods this month. We will explore Garden of the Gods and on the second day we will be riding the Pikes Peak Cog Railway which I have not experienced yet! Estes Park is an obvious must-see since it is less than an hour away from me! Mu family and I have also done the Shinning Tour at the Stanley Hotel, gone to Red Rocks Amphitheater, and walked around the main streets of Golden and Boulder. I also love taking visitors up Flagstaff road in Boulder to enjoy the views and walking around McIntosh Lake. I hope to visit more mountain towns this year as I have only been to Estes Park so far!
My favorite food places near Longmont have included Pumphouse Brewery, Landline Doughnuts, Antonio’s Pizza, The Garden Gate Cafe, and probably more I am forgetting!
There is so much to do and since I only moved here in 2024, I have a lot more left to explore! I would love to go to another mountain town and to the Botanical Gardens in Denver. I also want to visit the Denver Zoo! This is a very busy year for me but I am trying to make the best of it whenever and however I can- even if that just means enjoying my beautiful mountain view from my apartment and staying home to hang out with my bunny.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, Compassion Circles (and the counselor Heather Frederick) deserve a huge thank you for the foundation my practice is built on. My family is also an undoubtably huge part of my success and gave me the confidence to begin my building my own clinic. My mom, for her passion and dedication to healthcare as a nurse with several accolades through her career. She has always supported me even when she was a little scared or sad to see me move across the country. She is the strongest woman I know! To my dad, who passed away 12 days after I became a doctor and did not get to see my dreams come to fruition but was my LOUDEST cheerleader in all I did. He would have been overwhelmed with pride before I even got my first patient. To my sister, who upon learning about my new business immediately researched a new laptop for me along with customizing my logo onto anything she could find- keychains, stickers, and a mouse pad to start. She could not sleep until she figured out why my wix and gmail accounts weren’t collaborating together when I created a domain name. She is always ready to fix a problem and create personalized gear. To my Freddie, who thinks I can move mountains even when I question my abilities.
