We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Ferrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, how does your business help the community?
One of my favorite things about my firm offers is the ability to interact with, and get to know, members in the community through the work we do. I love meeting people and am passionate about sharing knowledge with others so that they can best protect their families, and what they have worked so hard to build.

My firm regularly offers free workshops and presentations to provide the community with information about what they may wish to consider based on their specific circumstances. For example, I host free events for parents of minor children, for real estate investors, and for those looking to learn a bit more about the basics of estate planning. People who are interested in being notified about workshops and events can get on my notification list at my website.

In addition, I offer free consultations, and I work with my clients through an education-based model. I want my clients to understand why we’re designing things a certain way, where they could be better protecting their families or business – or even where could be capitalizing on certain financial considerations and tools. Whether it is through a scheduled presentation or even informally with another parent I meet at the playground – I’m always happy to chat, share knowledge, and meet members of the community!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love providing comprehensive, crucial legal services, information, and knowledge to my clients in a relatable, non-intimidating manner. Figuring out how to best protect your family, your assets, and your business can be incredibly overwhelming: people don’t know where to start, who to trust, and don’t even know what types of questions they may want to ask. I enjoy being able to break down the process into simple steps – and present information in a manner that makes it easy to digest. I focus on making everyone feel welcomed, and strive to meet each client and prospective client wherever they are in the process and on their journey.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to serve my clients and to be where I am today with my firm. There have certainly been challenges along the way, though, and I continue to grow and learn every day. I focus on surrounding myself with people that uplift, challenge, and support me, and I constantly evaluate what I’m doing and how I’m doing it. I’m always looking for ways to learn and improve. I strongly believe that there’s something we can learn from every person, and every experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Yes! I love this. While it would depend on the friend and their interests, if someone is visiting me, they can absolutely expect to visit a few coffee shops. I would also try to get outside with my friend – for a hike in Boulder (I love the Mesa Trail in South Boulder) or a gravel ride. If my friend also had kids, we’d likely be at the splash pad at Coal Creek Park in Erie or mountain biking at Erie Singletrack (if you have young kids on their own bikes or a toddler on a Shotgun Seat – it’s a fun time!). There are so many great things to do in the area – it’s hard to choose!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Like anything we do in life – support from others has been crucial in the success of my firm. The amount of unwavering support from others has been essential.

A huge part of that success has been made possible by other entrepreneurs in my life, and watching them lead the way, through successes, challenges, and learning. Additionally, friends, and an incredibly supportive partner have played a tremendous role.

Perhaps the biggest thank you, though, goes to my clients and the community that has trusted me to help protect them, their families, businesses, investments and assets. It is an honor to be able to serve the people and communities that I do.
