Meet Meredith Anderson | Designer & Creative Leader

We had the good fortune of connecting with Meredith Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Meredith, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea for Another Cup started with my family. My mom always used Tervis tumblers for her evening cocktails, not because they were beautiful, but because they didn’t sweat and kept her drink cold. I remember thinking, there has to be a better version of this, something that works just as well but looks beautiful too. That really stuck with me.
Professionally, I’ve spent years designing for other brands, and eventually, I felt this pull to create something of my own, something that reflected my aesthetic, values, and point of view. I saw a real opportunity to bring elevated design into an everyday object. Another Cup was born from that idea: double wall glassware that’s functional but also beautiful enough to belong on your bar cart or dinner table. The glasses keep your drink at the perfect temperature without sweating in your hand or ruining your furniture, so they’re practical, but they also feel special.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me, design is storytelling, and Another Cup is a deeply personal extension of that. By day, I’m a senior designer and merchandiser for a New York City based company, where I’ve spent years creating apparel and product collections. I moved to NYC right after college and started from the ground up. The pay was minimal, the workload intense, but I soaked up everything I could. That experience taught me how to build collections with intention, how to think commercially and creatively, and how to lead with both vision and grit.
Everything I’ve learned in my career continues to propel me forward, not only as an apparel designer, but now as a product designer and founder of Another Cup. What sets this brand apart is that it blends utility with beauty. The idea came from a personal memory: my mom always used Tervis tumblers for her cocktails because they didn’t sweat and kept her drink cold. I wanted to take that same functionality and design something that felt elevated—glassware that looks beautiful on your bar cart or dinner table, but doesn’t sweat in your hand or ruin your furniture.
Launching Another Cup was far from easy. I had never worked in glass manufacturing before, and every step was new territory. But I believed in the vision and just started, researching, testing, asking questions, and learning as I went. I’m most proud that I didn’t wait until I had it all figured out (and I still don’t!). I trusted the idea, and that’s what kept me moving forward.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that your path doesn’t have to be linear. Every step, every long day, tight deadline, or failed sample, has added up to something meaningful. I want people to know that Another Cup is more than just beautiful glassware. It’s a brand built on creativity and the belief that the small, everyday moments deserve thoughtful design.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: City Living & Local Favorites
Morning
Start the day with a class at Boost Pilates: energizing, local, and a perfect way to kick off the visit.
Coffee & Stroll
Head to Ti Cafe for a matcha or Vietnamese coffee. Then take a walk through Wash Park for beautiful views, fresh air, and a great catch-up spot.
Lunch at Sonny’s Mediterranean
Refuel with my favorite lunch spot. This is some of the best food in Denver if you ask me. And the couple who owns it are so kind and fun to talk to!
Explore & Shop
Stroll around South Pearl Street (Common Threads) or pop over to RiNo to check out local boutiques.
Dinner Out
Alma Fonda Fina (if I can get a table)! Avocado marg on a quant corner in Lohi? Nothing better. If not, head to Sushi Den for a meal that has NEVER disappointed me.
Dessert
End the evening with Little Man Ice Cream (salted Oreo is NOT overrated)
Day 2: Mountains
Mountain Hike
Head to St. Mary’s Glacier or Chautauqua Park in Boulder for a morning hike. Enjoy the mountain air and take in the views with some morning movement.
Post-Hike Lunch
Grab a casual lunch at a local mountain spot.
Back to Denver & Chill
Return to Denver and relax. Maybe a power nap or just hang out on the patio with a drink in hand.
Last Night Dinner
Celebrate a great visit with dinner at Fish n Beer or Safta. Both are delicious, and perfect for a memorable meal.
Wind-Down
Back home for a glass of wine and a movie, or just sit around and relive the highlights.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s no way I’d be where I am today without the support of the people who’ve believed in me from the very beginning. First and foremost, my parents. They always encouraged my creativity and never pressured me to take a more traditional or “safer” career path. The way I was raised, to think freely, to explore my ideas, and to trust my instincts, instilled a sense of confidence in me that I carry to this day. That foundation truly shaped the way I approach both life and business.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to my husband, Joey. Another Cup wouldn’t exist without him. I’m full of ideas, but Joey is the one who nudged me (okay, pushed me!) to actually bring this one to life. Even when I had no idea what I was doing or how to start, he reminded me that I could figure it out and that my vision was worth pursuing. He’s been my sounding board and my cheerleader throughout the whole journey.
