Meet Alex Carneiro

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Carneiro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex, how does your business help the community?
At Prolean Training, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for every individual we work with. Based in Morrison, our studio focuses on one-on-one personal training and customized nutrition support to help clients not just look better, but feel better, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
We believe that exercise is one of the most powerful tools for improving overall well-being. It boosts confidence, reduces stress, strengthens the body, and fosters a healthier mindset. By helping people move better, eat smarter, and build sustainable habits, we’re not just transforming physiques, we’re empowering individuals to take control of their health and lead more vibrant, fulfilling lives. This ripple effect extends far beyond the gym, positively impacting families, workplaces, and the wider community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Prolean Training, we pride ourselves on offering something that’s become increasingly rare in the fitness industry: true personalization and genuine care. Unlike large fitness corporations that treat clients as numbers on a spreadsheet, we are deeply invested in the success and well-being of every individual who walks through our doors. What sets us apart is our commitment to providing custom-tailored solutions, using advanced tools like our 3D body scan technology to design nutrition and training plans that are as unique as the people we work with. We believe that fitness is never a one-size-fits-all journey. Every body has a story, and our job is to help rewrite that story in a healthier, more empowering way.
Getting to where we are today has not been easy. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced our share of setbacks. We’ve made tough calls, including hiring trainers who initially seemed aligned with our mission but ultimately lacked the dedication our clients deserve. We’ve weathered unpredictable challenges, from the complete shutdown during COVID to the ongoing impact of socioeconomic shifts, all of which tested our resilience.
But these experiences taught us valuable lessons: how to refine our hiring, how to adapt in times of uncertainty, and most importantly, how to consistently improve our client experience. Over the years, we’ve built a team that truly shares our values, people who care just as deeply about helping others as they do about their own growth. That has been the cornerstone of our evolution.
What we want the world to know is this: Prolean Training isn’t just a fitness studio. It’s a place where transformation is rooted in trust, education, and a commitment to excellence. Our story is still being written, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come, not because it was easy, but because we refused to settle for less than meaningful, lasting impact.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d kick things off with a sunrise hike at Red Rocks, then grab smoothies at Whole Sol. A couple of workouts at Prolean Training would be a must, paired with recovery sessions like hot yoga or a soak at Indian Hot Springs.
We’d explore RiNo Art District, paddleboard at Chatfield, and hit Mount Sanitas for a day trip to Boulder. Food-wise, we’d keep it clean with meals at True Food Kitchen, Vital Root, and Root Down, places that make healthy eating actually enjoyable.
By the end of the week, they’d feel recharged, inspired, and probably trying to move to Denver.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The truth is, our journey with Prolean Training has been largely self-driven. We didn’t have a mentor guiding us step by step or a blueprint handed down to follow. Everything we’ve built has come through trial, error, and a deep commitment to learning from our own experiences, especially the missteps. Along the way, a few close friends in business have generously shared insights from their own paths, and we’re deeply grateful for those moments of support.
That said, our growth has come from a relentless drive to figure things out ourselves. In a world where so many people search for shortcuts through books, podcasts, and external advice, we’ve found that the most effective teacher is action. Doing the work, failing forward, and adjusting as we go has been the real foundation of our success. There’s no substitute for experience and we’ve learned that sometimes, the hard way is the most valuable way.
