We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Mccune and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shawn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been doing handyman type of work for over 20 years. My background is HVAC (wholesale). Ive helped neighbors, friends, and the community with different types of work. My last job I worked as a maintenance supervisor for a feed mill. This was a rewarding job doing industrial maintenance. I spent six years here running the maintenance department. We got bought out by a large company on September 4th 2024. I agreed to a pay raise to stay and run the department. March 2025 rolled around and I was extremely overwhelmed as the new company liked to micromanage. My 8hr days turned into 12-15 hrs days. I decided Id had enough. I finally made a hard decision to jump ship and do my own thing. On my owed vacation I started my company. The week after I resign I landed my very first job as a company. The community has shown up for me. I prayed to God to open doors and he has not once let me down.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a young boy it didn’t matter what my dad was doing, I always had to be working next to him. If he was in the garage, I was in the garage! Through my careers, I’ve learned about HVAC, Refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, welding, building and many other skills. If I didn’t know how to do or what to do, my network group was so large I always knew someone that had an answer. My moto is If I dont know Ill find out. I do not accept jobs that are above and beyond my capabilities. I always aim to please, if its not right Ill make it right.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an avid outdoorsman. I I had to choose a place to hang out and have a good time Id be in the mountains. Hunting, fishing, hiking wherever the season takes us. I love to camp. It is always a great time. The older I get the more I always pack foor wise. My favorite thing to to cook for the boys is street tacos. My most memorable trips was taking some city boys on their first elk hunting experience. We had a great camp, great food, plenty of beer and most of all we had each other’s company.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ive always been the person people call when they need help. Whether it was a recommendation from a friend, people called me. My wife Victoria has been my largest support as she definitely knows how to talk me up when things are down. God had put this on my heart and once I had the vision it was put together like it was meant to be. Doors opened and I accepted. I also owe my dad as Ive learned most of what I know from him.
