Meet Jessica Dismuke | Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Dismuke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose being an esthetician for my career at a very young age. Growing up school was always a challenge for me. I struggled a lot when it came to reading and test taking. When I was in middle school my Mom mentioned Warren Tech to me which was a trade school she attended as a high school student. She knew I always had a passion for skin care and thought the Esthetics program would be a great opportunity for me to do something I love. I began the program when I was 17 and fell in love with the hands on work. I knew from the moment I started the esthetics program that this was the career path I was going to do for the rest of my life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Later in my career as an esthetician I realized that I wasn’t only trying to help women with making their skin feel and look healthier, but I also try and help women with self love. We are so hard on ourselves as women and always feel like something needs to be fixed or changed. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own way and that in the end it’s not what you need to change about yourself or your look but to just enhance your already beautiful skin. I go down a more natural noninvasive route to skin care. I believe in using natural products and treatments that make your skin look radiant the minute you leave my office. Instead of Botox I recommend to my clients Microcurrent Therapy which helps to stimulate and build the muscles, softens wrinkles and lifts the skin in a natural way. I also have a wide range of other treatments for the face and body to give your skin that Healthy Glow!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Evergreen is such a wonderful place if you like to be outdoors or have an amazing meal. I would recommend many of the hiking trails that are all around evergreen. You can’t go wrong with which one you choose because they all have such beautiful scenery. If you enjoy paddle boarding, fishing, ice skating or even just a nice relaxing walk, Evergreen Lake will meet all of your needs. It has the perfect location right in the middle of town. And if you get hungry after all of your activities Evergreen has a wide range of delicious restaurants. A few of my favorites are Creekside Wine Cellar, Beau Thai, Evergreen Pho.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Dad was a big reason for me to want to open up my own business. He had started his own business when he was in his 20s. I got a lot of my entrepreneurial skills from him and also working summers with him at his blue printing shop and seeing how a business really operates. He was a huge help in getting me started with my business because he knew all of the ins and outs of how to start and run a company. When I opened up my business in 2009 the age of 19 I didn’t know how much went into getting started. My parents were there every step of the way of giving me support and guidance. I am so appreciative to have wonderful parents like them to help me get to where I am today!
