We had the good fortune of connecting with Aisha Glenn-Bracey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aisha, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson that my business has taught me is to just GO FOR IT. I’ve learned that we hold ourselves back thinking too much on the how or making excuses as to why something won’t work instead of just taking a leap of faith and following our dreams! For me, this business has made me Step outside my comfort zones and every time I do, I succeed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Essentially I’m an art director who uses balloons as my medium. Originally, I was interested in marketing and branding for local small business because I saw a need in the market for small businesses to have quality content for their social media. I was always good at working with balloons and so I started mixing my talents for ballooning with my knowledge of brand esthetics. My work isn’t for a typical birthday or baby shower. It leans itself more toward editorial content. I also collaborate with local businesses photographers and models to create a concept that will highlight the creators work or product. We use balloons to make other products POP. It hasn’t always been easy though. I struggle with the fact that sometime my ideas are so new, edgy or uncomfortable, that people I would want to work with don’t understand at first. I’ve learned to rust my instinct and stand firm on my creativity. I’m always looking for new ways to shake up the idea that balloons are a party supply but instead an accent that can be used in so many different ways.
When people think of Balloon POP, I want them to think of my brand as an edgy alternative to a mass produced party supply.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my favorite places to be is the arts district in Denver. I’m based in Colorado Springs and so there aren’t many areas in my city quite like this. The murals that take up every corner of the buildings in that area are so inspiring. It’s a living art exhibit. I would spend the whole day there taking cool photos, or bustling balloon installations in the ally ways! There are also some really cool Exhibits to check out as well. My personal favorite right now is the Museum for Black Girls. It’s not only a celebration of culture and pride but a huge collaborative of different artists. There’s always so much to look at there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my kiddo!!! He’s my biggest supporter and motivator! It was actually him that got me started in the balloon business. Last year when the world was in lockdown during Covid, we had to cancel his birthday trip to Disney, and so I looked for a creative way to make him feel special at home. That’s when I created the balloon install that starter this whole journey. He has been with me every step of the way!
