We had the good fortune of connecting with Joan Carboni and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joan, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?

My Favorite quote is: “Each day we are born again—what we do today is what matters most.” Buddha

To me this quote embodies what I believe to be true. It is of great importance because when we understand the significance of it, we become very aware of its importance/relevance, and our potential.

I use this encouraging quote to remind myself of many aspects that lie ahead each day, and it allows me to enjoy renewed understanding, hope and new possibilities every day of my life.

For me this quote packs a very powerful punch. We are only human and cannot perform at peak every day, but tomorrow is a new day full of opportunities to strive to do better.

  • How fortunate we are to wake each day and be able to enjoy all the potential the day offers. That is a gift!
  • We have the power each day to create the life we desire.
  • When we feel excess pressure in life, and feel overwhelmed, it is a great reminder that we are in control of each moment of each day.
  • Whatever we choose to do each day has a significant impact on our lives.
  • It allows us to remember that we can achieve our goals and dreams.
  • It reminds us that even if we didn’t do as well as we had hoped the previous day, we have this new opportunity to do better.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called Ultimate Wellbeing and I am a wellness therapist, teacher and coach, enabling my clients to regain, and maintain, their state of wellness on all levels. After my husband’s death at a young age I thought there was a missing link to wellness—even the best medical team was unable to help cure him, so I began my search for answers. This started my interest in all things metaphysical and led me to enroll in a Reiki Training Course. After the first class, I realized there was something in this modality formally unknown to me. I continued my studies to become certified as a Reiki Master Practitioner and later become certified as a Reiki Teacher.
My physician was also an Ayurvedic Doctor and I became fascinated by the subject, so years later I decided to study at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, California, and became certified as a Chopra Global Perfect Health Teacher.
Reiki and Ayurveda are very well aligned, so I have successfully combined both in my practice. I do Reiki Treatments, teach all levels of Reiki from First Degree to Teachers, teach Ayurveda Perfect Health, and do Wellness Coaching.
Combining the wisdom of both modalities in my practice is a great asset for all my clients.
I do not think success is easy, it takes enormous dedication, willingness to constantly further one’s own education, hard work, and long hours. And, I believe of great importance is to choose work that brings one joy, so it is never just a job, but one’s personal happiness and purpose in life. I believe one also needs to care about clients as people—giving them the time they need, and being willing to partner with them on their journey to wellness.
People come to me for a variety of reasons, and often when conventional methods of treatment have failed. I never cease to be in awe of the results in my practice. It is not only empowering my clients to feel well again, but supporting them in leading a lifestyle that enables them to live a life of vitality, joy, happiness, fulfillment and purpose that I find incredibly rewarding.
I feel very blessed having so many incredible clients come to me, putting their trust in me and allowing me to guide them to their newfound state of wellness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I adore the outdoors, so I always recommend walking the beautiful trails we have in and around the Greater Denver Area, taking a flask of tea and muffins to enjoy at a scenic spot en-route. Visiting Red Rocks is also/a wonderful experience. The art museum, botanic gardens, and zoo are special places worth a visit, all with so much to offer. Enjoying a day drive to Georgetown is fun, and an overnight visit to Vail is essential when visiting. I love the European vibe in Vail, so wandering around the quaint streets, and soaking up the beauty is a must.

High Tea at The Brown Palace and sampling wine and enjoying a charcuterie board at Positano or Carboys are also most enjoyable ways to spend an afternoon, or evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am immensely grateful to: My incredible parents for giving me a wonderful foundation for life. They taught me the importance of always doing one’s best—that everything one does is only worth doing exceptionally well, that integrity is everything, and that kindness and compassion are essential in everyday life. They always walked their talk. My darling husband, who was my greatest supporter in all I did, and always believed in me. He taught me I could conquer the world and achieve all I wanted to, that rejuvenating was important, and that taking time out was essential for the soul. My amazing daughter, who has always been there to encourage, advise, and nurture me from an exceptionally young age. A fierce ally and wise beyond her years, she always has pearls of wisdom and reminds me during difficult times that I am a thriver, and will achieve anything I want to. And to all the authors of my favorite books, and the incredible people whose events I have attended who have enabled me to learn, grow, and become successful in my chosen field, I am so grateful to you all.
