We had the good fortune of connecting with Sommer Brennan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sommer, is there something you believe many others might not?
Don’t fake it til you make it!

Seemingly innocent advice like this is why so many of us (myself included) struggle with imposter syndrome.

I worked in sales before I became a life coach, and for a while I tried to fake confidence during big pitches.

No matter how well I presented, I felt like an imposter because I thought my nerves meant I wasn’t “naturally confident.”

But when I finally stopped wasting my energy trying to force confidence, I relaxed enough to be myself and learn from my mistakes.

Doubting yourself is completely normal and won’t stop your progress unless you make fear mean something about you.

Even if you think the saying is harmless, there are way more empowering things to tell yourself that have nothing to do with fakeness.

I finally let go of “faking it” when I tried new mottos like, “Nerves are normal,” and, “I can handle any feeling.”

It’s a simple switch, but when you stop resisting the anxiety you can focus on what’s truly important in that moment.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Most people think life coaches give advice and tell you what to do with your life.

But my job as a coach is to reveal how your mindset creates every result in your life.

Once you’re aware of what you’re thinking, you can solve any problem or achieve any goal!

I love the aha-moment my clients have when they realize the life-changing power they hold with their choices.

You always have a choice about what you think.

That one belief is what drove me to start WholeSommer after I lost my corporate job due to Covid and invest my savings in life coaching certification.
