We had the good fortune of connecting with Nirvana Shawty and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nirvana, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success and brand of not only me but my fellow creatives, is simply never forgetting the reason why we continue to do what we do, for years we always had the same motive for creating music and never once did we want to do it for anything other than fulfilling our dream.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well it all began in 8th grade 2016/17 when MURAKAMI MEL and I noticed we both had a different ear for music and what I mean by that is we really dove into a song or project and artist released, and because of that we wanted to make our dream come true and become artist as well so in the summer of 2017 MURAKAMI MEL purchased a microphone, laptop, FL Studio, etc and we just dove right in experimenting with beats and sounds. Then fast forward to 2020/21 we found our sounds and our “brands” and expanded on it as well as including fellow friends who had the same ear and same drive for creating music and videos who then became 5HUNNID and JOHN.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city would definitely be Twist and Shout the record store in downtown because it’s very fun to see all the art work of project covers and also to see all the cool toys and collectibles they have as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I just want to give a huge shout out to my music group TEENSRAGE and that includes me (NIRVANASHAWTY), MURAKAMI MEL, VIGILANTE, 5HUNNID, and last but not least our director JOHN, for always keeping ourselves refreshed and motivated to have fun while creating our music.
