We had the good fortune of connecting with Arielle Gerke and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arielle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In starting my own business it was important that I use my talents to successfully retrain and sell horses after they have completed their career on the racetrack. The thought behind this would be to place horses in an environment where they would be matched with a long term partner and continue their career as an athlete in a different discipline. Mostly consisting of placement with Hunter Jumper facilities ranging from beginning riders under professional coaching and professional riders competing.

Another part of my business is sharing my experience by instructing students on the overall respect and tradition of the equine industry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a small local business that caters to both beginner and advanced riders along with sales to match a great rider and horse.

My speciality is taking horses from the racetrack that may not have a second career otherwise, and it is most fulfilling for me helping horses in this way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite place currently has been the Gaylord of the Rockies. This is one of the best places to view the beautiful front range along with the amazing picture of the Rocky Mountains. There are so many things to do with a family at the Gaylord of the Rockies including summer and winter events.

Another favorite would be to visit Idaho Springs and the wonderful hot springs, just another place to relax and enjoy a small mountain town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout would be to my husband Cimmaron Gerke in supporting me throughout my career as an professional instructor and training from the beginning. Cimmaron has been an instrumental part of the success of my business by helping with horses that may need a specific training method or schedule to help transition from one career to the next.

Another shoutout would be to my loyal customers because if I did not have them my business would not be sucessful.
