Meet Jovana Stosovic | Photographer and Random Acts of Kindness Junkie

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jovana Stosovic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jovana, what do you want people to remember about you?
Ive prided my whole life around teaching others and myself about being authentically yourself and the importance of human interaction and connection. I want people to remember that although life presented us all with bumps in the road and hardships at times, that we find time to appreciate and give gratitude to the good and the bad. Every single experience, moment, action, and reaction brought us to this very moment in time and has sculpted us each into these perfectly imperfect people having a human experience.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Photos by Jovana stands out by creating a personal experience with each of my clients and capturing a vision you never knew you had. I get to know my clients and we become friends in the time period of your shoot. Taking photos can be such an uncomfortable task even, however with my shoots, they become an opportunity to show you just how truly capable you are of being captured in a confident way. Throughout your session, we will accomplish your wish list of photos you would like to take, while also getting a chance to personalize it with items or sets that cater to you and what does make you comfortable. Anyone can take a picture, but few can truly capture the essence of emotion behind a special soon to be memory.

I struggled with self doubt for a couple of years before finally taking the plunge and starting Photos by Jovana. I had always considered myself an amateur because I hadnt taken classes or learned all the settings on my camera. Ive grown to learn, that with a bubbly personality and a natural talent for photo that anything is possible if you really believe in your self.

We are all trying our best each day to be the best possible version of ourselves. I like to capture all of the good and even sometimes the bad that happens in between that.

If i could make anyone feel truly seen through my lens…. then that makes it all worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Growing up in Denver, It has given me a chance to explore some of the nicest and divest of dive bars and places. When my friends from out of state visit we start the trip with the breakfast burrito from Bonfire Burritos in Golden. I love to support local and these guys started in a small trailer and have now made it to a storefront, its awesome to see how far they’ve come. You can then drive 10 minutes over to Red Rocks Amphitheater and explore/hike up and see the wonders that is the worlds greatest music venue. A walk around Evergreen lake is never a disappointment when you’re trying to soak up the sun and get some fresh air and scenery within an hours drive. On your trek down I-70 you can hit up the originals Beau Jos Pizza in Idaho Springs and enjoy a mountain crust pizza (must eat with honey on the crust) and checking out their historic downtown before coming back down to town. Downtown Golden at the Golden Mill has become a favorite hotspot as its got a view of Coors and includes food and beverage options while listening to clear creek tubers make their way down the creek. If you’re a fan of live music and want to save a buck on drinks, head down to Rockrest in Golden on Wednesday nights when Dave the great plays a series of songs on his guitar and enjoy a $4 long island. There is never a dull night in Colorado. There is ALWAYS something to do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost my beautiful mother deserves the most amount of praise in my life. She has stood by and supported every single idea, action, and desire I have ever had. She is the reason I picked up a camera and started my photography journey. Seeing her passion and eye for it definitely encouraged me. To those who have helped me with ideas, second opinions, booked me for gigs or just shared my name….this also goes out to all of you. I would never have come this far if it wasnt for the word of mouth from my coworkers, friends and family. Thank you so much! As well as everyone at Shoutout for choosing me!
