We had the good fortune of connecting with Tawni Ledford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tawni, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risks has been an integral part of my life and career. We don’t always have the luxury of knowing what lies ahead or have the grace of time by our side. When crossroads present themselves, often times, a decision must be made in a fleeting moment. Some may perceive this as a scary idea, but I find it enthralling! The best moments in my world have been made up by a trail of exciting decisions, and a “jump with both feet in” mentality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a creative soul who was blessed to be led into the world of Real Estate. My children are the center of everything I do, and in their early years, as with many parents, they enjoyed a small bit of my time after a long day of work. As they reached the school-age, I realized that I wanted a different life for them. I left teaching preschool to be able to provide a stronger support system for them at home. A home with more quality time, love, patience, and freedom to enjoy one another. In my last 5 years in this industry, I have learned how to teach others about that same opportunity. People deserve to enjoy their families, to understand finances, and to have the opportunity to create generational wealth. I took a leap of faith to learn an entirely new profession. Taking that risk fueled me with excitement, and challenged me to become a leader for those, not only in my family, but in my community. I grew up with a very hard-working family, but finances were not a well understood item in our household, or amongst our neighbors. “Poverty” was not in my vocabulary, although, I was raised very humbly and our family often times went without. That was my driving force to succeed in Real Estate. If I can help every person, family, or friend take a risk to create a financially sound future, I am a fulfilled woman. Real Estate has not only been fundamental, but it’s also been a great source of celebration! I’ve met many wonderful families and business owners along the way, and have been able to collaborate with them to create a vibrant Denver community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is an energetic city with endless places to discover. My close friends know how much I love to explore new restaurants and imbibe in the classiest of establishments. Whenever I have a friend in town to visit, my two favorite places to start the evening off are at El Five and 54Thirty. The views are breathtaking, and the flavors of both food and drink are a luxury experience for the palette. The speak-easy scene is one to be proud of. I can only hope more additions to Denver’s nightlife will come along in the future.

As for the sunniest days in our beautiful state, a ride on the Glenwood Springs gondola after a 16 mile bike ride through the canyon is a refreshment for the soul and a great juxtaposition to the busy city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Denver Influencer’s Collective sparked my imagination in a way that gave me fresh life in business. Gathering with mothers who are also successful business women, in several varying industries, provided me the best encouragement to give my children back my time and positivity. All of our meetings were collaborative in nature, full of excitement with fresh perspective for each individual’s business, and a life long group of supportive friendships.
