We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Mayfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that the real estate process requires effective interpersonal communication, problem solving, teamwork and tenacity. The industry can be difficult to navigate, however having the right mindset and people around you will help ensure success. I thoroughly enjoy helping people achieve their real estate goals and I am extremely good at doing that because I approach each situation not as a transaction, but as an experience. I collaborate with my clients and learn about them while presenting all the information I can so that they can make the best decision for themselves. By the end of the process, I feel that if we have not become friends then I did not do my job right.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Denver (Colorado in general) has so much to offer! Once we were settled in I would take my friend to El Five for some tapas and a fantastic view of the city as well as the mountains. After that, we would hit up a concert at Red Rocks, which is one of the coolest place to see a live band and it does not matter who is playing! Of course, at some point we would also have to venture up into the mountains and perhaps camp on Guanella Pass then a hike to Silver Dollar Lake. A trip to one of the many hot springs would be a must along with a tour of the cave in Glenwood Springs. Fall is my new favorite season here, so on the way back into town we would take the scenic route to look at all the leaves changing. There is no doubt in my mind that along the way we would meet new and interesting people at each stop since Colorado is full of them. That is just one aspect that makes this place so great!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate a shoutout to Wes Hartman, he has been instrumental in my success. Wes has given me all the support and encouragement I needed from day one. He has shared life lessons as well as the thought process in which to approach our business. I remember the first task he had me complete and that was to read the book “The Go-giver” by Bob Burg and John David Mann. The book is a story about a powerful business idea and the premise resonated with me… change your focus from getting to giving—putting others’ interests first and continually add value to their lives. From that moment on I knew that Wes was the perfect mentor for me.
