We had the good fortune of connecting with Aldo Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aldo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’m 29 years old. I heard somewhere online, from some internet personality, that the average wage working man gets the worst end of this “Game.” Of course the “Game” being the game of life. I would say more specifically the game of American/Consumer life. I knew I could always get work and do good work for great employers, but in order to provide the life I want for my 3 kids and wife, I needed to do it on my own. Like my immigrant father did before me. He has owned his own electrical contracting company for 30 years now.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I shoot, edit and produce digital media content. Specializing in video. As well as photography, graphic design, and social media marketing for business owners. Coming out of college I changed directions with my career goals. It was tough. My brother hired me at his local Denver Tattoo Shop. A very successful business of his own called “Love N Hate Elite Tattoo Studio.”

There I really cut my teeth on the most underutilized platform out there: Youtube. I learned entire new skill sets that I did not learn when earning my Bachelors in Journalism and Communications. From there I helped him grow his Tattoo Studio’s social media following by 300%. I continued to learn and trek my $13.00/hr journey for almost 3 years before realizing I needed to take that next step. I’ve been now working independently for several clients digital media content needs. Ranging from product photography and high quality video work for salsa brands, drinks and more. I also am one of the Lead Videographers for the popular Influencer, Skincare By Hyram. I’ve been working closely and personally with Hyram for over a year.

My business is still very new, but I am to gather a pipeline of steady clients who I show that Professional looking video doesn’t need to cost “Professional Prices.” I want to bring affordable digital media options to small business owners. Especially local ones!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would spend monday – Friday taking my buddy to our Urban Beauty here. The downtown architecture on a rainy night. For sure Blue Island Oyster Bar a few times because of the Blue Berry Margarita and best fish IMO you’ll find in this land locked location we all live in. Hopefully a Red Rocks show and of course the various art districts as well. Then friday night through the frantic rush to the airport sunday evening we would be surrounded by trees in the mountains.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My brother. He gave me an opportunity to work at his local Denver Tattoo Shop as his personal photographer/videographer. When I graduated college I changed career paths, so it was daunting to think of what opportunities might be available to me. I give a HUGE Shoutout to my Brother, owner and operator of Love N Hate Elite Tattoo Studio, for giving me a chance to build my skills.
