We had the good fortune of connecting with Alejandro Lucchetta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alejandro, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Since I was a child I knew that I loved art in all its forms but I wanted to beautify women, I wanted to make art, highlighting the beauty of women. I’ve been a hairdresser for 26 years, but I’m also an actor, acting comes from the hand of Kendra Matic, I’m a drag queen and that’s her name, and that’s also where my art is today too
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have worked in the most important hair salons of Argentina such as, Marcos Roman and Miguel Romano, where I developed my work with big prominent personalities from the showbiz of my country, as Susana Gimenez, Moria Casan, Nacha Guevara among others. I got my first certificate of Hairdresser when I was 14 years old in Buenos Aires. From there I started to work as assistant in a hair salon because I wanted to learn everything about different professionals watching them work.
When I was 27 years old I opened my first hair studio in Buenos Aires city, 2 years after that I opened my huge hair salon and being the hair stylist of the most important celebrities of Argentina.
5 years ago another dream I always had came true: to live in the United States.
I learned that when you can see the big picture without to ask to yourself how to get there, you can create it. Whatever you want is already in and with you.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m currently in Aspen, Colorado and I’ll take my friend to eat to Jing it’s a wonderful place to eat Japanese food. My favorite in Aspen. I’ll take him for a hike because the trails are amazing here. The views are incredible. The people is very kind. Aspen is a little town with a big party.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents Oscar and Emma they gave me the best thing that you can have:
Freedom to be and to create what I wanted all my life.
