We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Lawwill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alex, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Soulfulyrooted was birthed by two devoted spirits who share one common desire, to serve authentically from the root up. Alex and Ruth came together through their common dedication to their healing journey of higher learning and deeper spiritual connection. They create offerings based on inward curiosities that reflect where they are in their own personal journey. Breathwork brought them together and founded soulfulyrooted, while simultaneously paving the way for a much bigger mission. One that is led by spirit and expands beyond one modality. Weaving together energetics, movement and the elements, they use their personal gifts to curate a wholesome experience. They decided to merge their energies as a unit in order to serve at a greater capacity and amplify each others light. They are both certified breathwork and RYT 200 facilitators and plan to adopt and share various other healing techniques. Together and individually, they desire to connect in community and raise the collective vibration from the inside out. Magnifying feminine and masculine energy through safety and trust. One heartbeat at a time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Alex has 7+ years of leadership experience with Amazon directly managing exempt employees and leading continuous education programs across North America and Canada for over 5,000 leaders for last mile delivery stations. She extended her leadership experience into her personal life over the past few years in developing a business and serving community through holistic wellness offerings. She understands the ins and outs of business from a programmatic and people side that helps her translate with ease in any community avenue.

She has two businesses currently, her first was created in 2020 called Sol Essentials and consists of all natural soy wax candles that Alex and her brother make by hand and now offer as wholesale to various vendors in the U.S. Alex is an entrepreneur at heart and part of her mission is to expand wellness offerings in any way possible and build strength in community. Her second and most recent business, in collaboration with Ruth is called Soulfulyrooted, a community of somatic healing that includes various healing modalities and offers a wide space to explore and connect with like-hearted souls. Ruth and Alex came together as a powerful duo to remove the comparison and scarcity fears around women in business together and create a path forward for young entrepreneurs to join forces and magnify one another gifts and skills. They are fire and air (Aquarius and Aries) and literally stoke each others flames as they transform individually and together. They honor each others unique creative expression which offers an open space to explore new modalities and more in-depth community offerings.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ooooh this is a fun one! I am a huge coffee addict (unapologetically ;)) and I love to explore different coffee shops around the city. My favorites at the moment are Metropolis and Pablo’s Coffee! My friend and I started a ‘Denver Req’s’ in our shared notes and are still not even half way through! For restaurants, I really love Señor Bear (must try the plantain chips and guac!) or City O’ City is always a go to. You can always catch me doing something outdoors whether that be hiking, biking, running, yoga or at live music (red rocks is my second home!) my soul is most lit up by nature, movement and music! Some of my favorite 14’ers have been Greys & Torres and Harvard (this one is HARD and I didn’t realize until afterwords it is the 3rd tallest peak in CO!) so you can count on me to take you on all the fun and intense adventure! 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ruth Purchase is my business partner and soul sister! We support one another on our individual journeys which sparks a connected evolution in our community and offerings.
