Meet Allan Castle | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Allan Castle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allan, why did you pursue a creative career?
I feel like I am here to be creative and also show my clients how beautiful they are I love seeing people smile the first time they see their pictures and I hear them say, that’s a great picture of me. I usually look awkward in photos, but I love my smile and I look natural, You caught a great moment.
Often clients tell me that they feel good about themselves. Sometimes for the first time in a long time.
Almost like they are models or celebrities. And they get to experience something fun and glamorous.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is very diversified. I have created pictures for hotels, law firms and lots of individuals and models who just want to look their best in photos. I will sometimes use vintage film cameras as well as digital cameras. I love creating digital art and fine art photography too. Even thought the pictures are different, there is an old fashioned feeling about them. They come from my heart and imagination.
It is not easy being a professional artist/photographer in today’s market. It is very competitive.
I have been creating photos for over 30 years. I think the key to success is listening to my clients and delivering the best product I can. I want the photos to look as good as possible. I will spend hours retouching, if required. I use the best photo labs and deliver everything as quickly as possible.
It’s very important to relate to your clients. To have them trust you and offer old fashioned service.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Denver area has so many great places. From Union Station to Lo Do to great museums and restaurants. I would pick an area, for almost everyday and show them the area, take photos of them having fun and also
allow enough time to relax and have a nice drink.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My girlfriend Alice is so supportive. She is always telling me how great my photography is and that I create photos that are unique and special.
My friends are very supportive too. They often ask to see my latest photos and sometimes want a copy of a picture to put on their wall.
