We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyssa Dané and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyssa Dané, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I feel like this career chose me. I was given a gift to hone and share with the world. It took me a long time to be comfortable to share that, but it gives me so much joy. Being able to do relate with other through music is so freeing.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I can honestly say I had an unrealistic idea of being a musician. It’s easy to get lost in being “famous” or glamorous. I wanted to put out good music. My biggest issue was writing, it took me awhile to get over that. I feel it held me back because I was always questioning whether or not my work was good enough. I still struggle with it, but once I get into a groove it’s only up. I think my biggest accomplishment through out my career is not comparing myself to other artists. I had to give myself grace as I move at my own pace. It’s made me a better singer.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m actually a homebody. I rarely venture outside my home or a book if I’m not in the studio. I thoroughly enjoy a good Thai spot like Thai Basil though. I do enjoy going to viewhouse for a drink or enjoy the games. I find peace in going to the botanical garden in denver

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly my family & friends are the reason I pushed through my insecurities. I decided to put forth more effort to create a beautiful body of work. It only makes me want to put out more music.
